The brief addition of "It is Well" is a rare opportunity to hear the beautiful tenor voice of the beatboxer, Adam Rupp. He rarely sings, let alone solos. He is more comfortable doing beatboxing, or harmonizing.

They were on a European tour and decided to stop in Austria where some of the movie "Sound of Music" was filmed. This happens to be the absolute best rendition of "How Great Thou Art" I've heard in my 76yrs. It's the only rendition that has brought me to tears within the first few seconds of it and does so every time I watch this video. I hope you get a chance to listen to a several more of my Home Free favorites, "Brothers in Arms" a Dire Straits cover, "In The Blood" a John Mayer cover and "Blue Ain't Your Color" a Keith Urban cover. Love your energy and interest in finding out more about our guys, Home Free. Thank you for the joy.

You aren't the first reactor that would love to have them perform at their wedding . Austin and Tim can be hired for events with some of their musician friends. See the explanation after Tim and Austin's performance of. My Maria on , Austin's channel. They are singing with a few of their friends playing on instruments on the video My Maria Members of Home Free also do individual solo.projects as well other projects with other musicians. They have an extended "family" of other groups, musicians, former members of Home Free , their producer, close friends, backstage technicians, the guy that sells their merch at concerts, and of course their spouses and children. They have established good relations with big stars such the late Kenny Rogers (he sought them out to perform with him), Don McLean (they sang with him for the fiftieth anniversary version of American Pie ),. The Oak Ridge Boys ( sang with them their original hit Elvira) to name just a few. Diana Ross is a fan. They performed for her seventieth birthday They also respect and love their fans who make it possible for them to make a living doing what they love.

The video was shot in the Austrian Alps, a fantastic background for this song. The guys from Home Free have perfectly expressed the pure beauty of this song. The harmonies are so precise and flawless, it's brilliant. Someone once commented on this: this is no longer acapella, this is voice painting. And I can only agree with that. Thanks for the great reaction!

They were in Austria, when they shot this video. Brother, don't ever fear to say what you believe in. It not only allows others to figure out 'who' you are, but, it will demonstrate to them your true strength. Yes, 'How Great Thou Art' is definitely one of the most loved songs in the non-secular community and even some who do not follow the Christian tenets. Good music, is good music! The song/hymn comforts and brings a sense of peace to our hectic lives, which in turn spurs us on to be kinder and more compassionate - something we all need more of today. Keep on keepin' on brother, as I also love listening to your well-resonating voice. There is much in store for you....😔 🙏 🙂 Here's another humble suggestion, should you enjoy harmonies. It's quite often that the accompanying music makes up for the singer's short-comings. 'Helplessly Hoping' offers us a great chance to hear group's musicality and emotiveness: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYLXap2BeaikftE Short, but sweet! 😉

Best version of this song I’ve ever heard! Head to toe goosies every time I hear it 😊 Edited to add: A few of suggestions: My Church (there was a teaser at the end of the video you just watched) In The Blood All About That Bass (to see their not so serious side) So Long Dixie, which is a Home Free original written by Austin Brown & Tim Foust of Home Free, Chris Chatham (long time friend of Tim) and Adam Wakefield from the band Texas Hill( you might wanna check them out too), not a Capella. And to get to know the guys, you should check out some live performances. I think Dreamer live from The Ryman, with Texas Hill, is a good place to start. At the end of the video Tim does an introduction of the band members. They used to do a few skits that are hilarious: Guilty Pleasures is one of my favourites. Oh and you gotta see a: Story Time With Tim, my favourites are: Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), Natemares and Count The Bacons.

This was filmed in the Austrian Alps. We even get to hear the beatboxer sing! There's a live video of them singing this called "Home Free Kearny". The concert had been cancelled cuz of a thunderstorm. Rather than disappoint their fans, the went to the pavilion where they were sheltering, stood on a picnic table and - without mics, amps, etc. - sang this song. Being accompanied by thunder, wind & flickering lights it was you really knew "How Great Thou Art".

Seeing them live is a treat! Thank you for your short commentary on religion. I go to church most every week now, but it had been many years that I didn’t go at all. I have made changes that have been good for me and I feel the Holy Spirit within. This song is not only a hymn, but somewhat of an anthem when you hear these sweet harmonies. You will find many of their songs where you can hear every voice. It’s phenomenal! I won’t hold journalism against you because you are able to feel the music and articulate what makes you feel that way. Another one I feel you might enjoy is Blue Ain’t Your Color, a Keith Urban cover. I hope you’re having a pleasant evening!

Home Free is not a faith-based group, but at least 3 of them did grow up in church. Tim Foust, the bass, actually grew up in a church where no instruments were used, so he grew up with an a cappella background. Austin's father was part of a gospel quartet, and Adam Rupp was raised in church along with his brother Christ, who founded the group and left in 2016 (Chance replaced him). Take note that Adam Rupp actually sings a few lines of the lead in this one. That is very rare. He sometimes adds a harmony when he isn't beatboxing, but I can't think of another song where he actually sings any of the lead. I'm sure if my memory is wrong, someone will correct me. As far as recommendations, I will recommend some that don't get as much love as they should. Love Train; Crazy Life; Blue Ain't Your Color followed by the live version; Spaceship; American Kids. Really, you could start with their Season 4 Sing-Off performances and go systematically through their entire catalog without finding a bad song.

For me this is the best version I've ever heard of this song. So beautifully sung in a wonderful scenery. All those different voices, but still one. Even Adam sings a bit! That is amazing. I come from a Christian family with several pastors. This song was often sung at our house. Especially my father sang it (in Dutch) with his great voice. I showed and heard this to my mother (85) a few years ago. She now regularly asks me to play it. She even once asked to be heard in church. Adam and his brother Chris Rupp, who start the group, started in the church. Austin Brown traveled with his father who sang in the Gospel group Southern Quartet. So they do have a Christian background. Chris Rupp who left the group in 2016 for a solo album and other projects sings various Christian songs. Also listen to his "Amazing Grace" and "Long Black Train" ft Tim Foust

Hi Justin, You just popped up in my KZbin suggestions today. How fortunate for me! I really enjoy your speaking voice. Home Free really took us to church on this hymn! I am with you. Those last few measures are stunning, especially that last chord where there was great tension-then when the tension resolved-wow! Shivers all down my spine! If you want to do a fun song with Home Free, listen to “Elvira” that they sing with The Oak Ridge Boys, who recorded it in 1981, and it was a smash hit. When you listen to it, keep in mind that most of The Oak Ridge Boys are in their 70s and 80s and they are still killin’ it!

Yes, several of them have a christian church background; Austin grew up traveling with is dad's southern gospel group for example. But other than speaking of those pasts I don't think I've ever heard them referring to religion. Things like saying god bless and the like. I know Austin has mentioned he meditates. Well, there's one time Austin did mention feeling closer to god. Episodes 17 & 18 of their Home Away From Home series are titled QuaranTime (parts 1 & 2) where each of them talked of what they were going through and showed what they were doing in and around their homes with friends and family. Austin says that was the longest time he'd been home since the Sing-Off, fishing in his pond and maintaining his beautiful land. A wonderful 24 minutes that I recommend. Also, the making of this video is covered in episode 8 of their From the Vault series, sort of a camera behind the camera thing done for every video the do. Patreon supporters above a certain $$ amount get access to them all and they're supposed to release one for everyone to see on the first Monday of every month, but they've skipped a lot. Hopefully episode 22 will come out next week.

Loved your reaction and appreciate for their talent! They are not a Christian-based group. They are Country a cappella, but sing so many genres in their own style. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps while they were there for an a music festival in which they participated in. When they drove by this part of the Alps, they knew they had to film a music video. What a great decision it was! Love this version!

This as for many was my family funeral song, and first I ever knew, was reading thelyrics in the little red bibles they gave out at school, was in the cover, and when i bothered to read, already tears, then people died... was their and our song... when my time comes, i wanna have this one played..... is truly beautiful and reminds one of the wonders of the universe and life itself.

I love how they insert a couple of lines of "It is well" between verses. Never heard that before, but my ignorance is boundless. In their cover of My Church they add a couple of extra lines as well.

I stumbled across your channel & have been watching your reactions to our guys Home Free. You can consider yourself a Home Fry but there are so many songs you need to react to. The catalog is very long & beautiful to hear. They are Christians but most importantly, they're great Human Beings that have so much talent that it's hard to believe and so humble. Please check out Mayday, Helplessly Hoping, Brothers In Arms, Listen To The Music, Walking This Land and they just wrote a song for a video game called Skull & Bones. You can't go wrong with anything that you listen to by them. Thanks for the reaction & welcome to the rabbit hole that is Home Free.

No, they are not a faith-based group but they grew up singing in church and it shows.

There is a live version of this out on KZbin, from Kearney, MO. The outdoor concert had to be cancelled due to a rain storm passing through. They sang How Great Thou Art live, without mikes. It’s worth a listen.

I don’t consider them a Christian group, though at least 3 of the guys started singing in Christian churches. This is not my religion, but this music speaks to one’s soul. Not sure I want to burst your bubble about them making the video, but like everyone’s music videos, the singing is pre recorded. Otherwise you’d just hear the wind. The BTS video from this IS interesting. (Home Free from the Vault #8) Their cover of “Yours”, is their most wedding day song, IMO.

These guys are the real deal. They did an (outdoor) concert that had to be canceled due to rain & lightning. Instead of just going away, the boys went to a shelter that had been set up for the fans. They walked in, stood (on a table) and sang this song without any electronics! I can’t say I’ve ever heard that many fans be so quiet for so long. The guys love their fans! They didn’t need to do that, but they wanted the fans have a unique experience. They’re the best!,

@@carolyntaylor7 Yes, I’ve seen several videos from that un-mic’d performance. I didn’t mean to imply they aren’t the real deal. But the official music videos are not the on-site singing. ✌🏽

@@itzel1735 correct. I was just pointing out that the gents, unlike some artists, don’t need post production to sound. HF sounds fantastic without electronic crutches.

These guys toured for years without fancy effects for their live performances. As they have. become more successful, their production and technical crew have expanded in contrast when they had very little if any.

You can be spiritual without religion, and feel the love and unity of all our souls, in gratitude for our most perfect world, which we seem to be destroying with greed and hate. Love wins.
