It's a great 1HBH but how is it better than that of Wawrinka, Gasquet, Edberg or Kuerten?

I agree with Lulu. My rationale is as follows - Henin was/is of a slight build and frame and used a stroke that tends to be used by physically stronger players. You couple it with the following factors: when she wasn't unwell (which led to a shortening of her career) she was able to overpower Serena on hard and clay courts largely due to that backhand; she won far more than Kuertan and Wawrinka both of whom are physically equal or a greater match to their peers at the time; Edbergs was a great passing and set up shot, but his was in a time when he had other one handers that weren'tmas powerful and consistent as Henins generation - not just that but she won at RG which requires a very powerful heavy and consistent backhand with high bouncing balls - Edberg couldn't do that. I think McEnroe said that she is the best hitter of the ball he had seen and had the best backhand - who am i to argue @@hehehehehahahaha2025

@@brownieleaders9326 valid points but you can make counter-arguments to them as well. Edberg never winning the RG isn't a surprise considering he wasn't a baseliner and couldn't hit an offensive FH if his life depended on it (what actually IS surprising is that he still made it to a finals), used a heavy but head-light 85 sq. in. racquet up until his retirement and was still keeping himself alive in rallies, hitting winners and returning serve with his BH before you had luxilon alu banger strings. And there were good baseliners with 2HBHs during his time; Agassi, Courier, Bruguera, etc. Something similar can be said of Gasquet who might as well not have a forehand (or a serve) at all and still made it to the top 10, a testament to the quality of his BH. McEnroe knows his shit I'm sure but it's also kinda hard to know when he actually means something considering the amount of over-hyping and contradicting he does. But fair enough.

What follows a good impression isn't always cyphering a good understanding .but a reminder of interpreting a motive for finer situations .explaining does most of it but it's progress thar provokes speculations .neither has it any considered myths for facts but it could do some help.never resight a bad over assumptional years when ither saves might yeild a harm .contemptional takes do revise pity for warmth but it temporary distincts that vague it possible for intentional growth.cause what apparent astutes just as compliancy fullfills.

I think her one handed backhand was more consistent than Federer's. Her opponents avoided hitting to her backhand. Federer's opponents, (particularly Nadal) targeted his.

FYI Federer's one handed bh was his weakest shot, and his technique was not as sound as Henin's, Federer is a great tennis player, but that is not reason for saying that everyone of this strokes was the best.

lol, Stanimal!!! The GOAT (Nole) has ultimate respect for that weapon. just watch how Stan finishes matchpoint at GR final against Nole. No one can do that to Nole, 1 or 2 handed BH.

Agree with LuLu-nw6bi. The best weaponized consistent one-arm backhand in tennis history because she could crush the low balls too. Don't think Wawrinka, Haas and Gasquet are nearly as good on that score.
