I had this argument months ago and nobody believed that the DB rock lights were way brighter. They will be the ones I go with when I build a truck

So I’m doing quad row wheel lights all lights on outside of the ring. And 8 rock lights with 24 led per pod. Was wondering since doing wheels lights also. Should I put 1 rock light per wheel well and the others under the doors. Or 2 in each wheel well and let wheel lights cover the rest of the under truck

I watch JW and your channel and was looking for rock lights and wheel lights and decided on DB auto lights. For the reason is super bright and easy install, plug and play extra wire easy to hide clean install , also comes with a wireless remote.

Good choice. I don’t personally have anything against the guy each set have their pros and cons. But for the money no way I’d pay more for all kinds of hurt connectors. If I really want but connectors and shorter wires , I can do that to these. 15 foot of wire is plenty to go from rock light to rock light butt connecting each one together if a man wanted to.

Man i bought some wheel lights from db and i had nothing but problems. I read all the reviews and they were all good but when i installed them, the bluetooth motor that controls the different modes literally melted. Then i started having problems with the led strips itself and i had to get 2 replacement ones, then i had to end up hard wiring them to a switch.

When I install rock lights, am I able to use butt connectors to tap into the power from my wheel lights to power and ground rock lights so I don't have to run alot of wire, or would I have a problem doing that?

You can give them a call during normal business hours and have a remote control harness & module option added. But generally they come with just a simple switch harness. I like to wire them to the trucks factory AUX switches if you have those! Super clean.

Yes they are getting power from a battery , but the 2 gauge wire I used was to wire up a secondary battery , so the truck normally has 1 battery , but instead now has 2. So I just ran the power & ground from the secondary battery instead of original

Just received and installed 12 of the 32led lights. Have to say that I'm a little disappointed. I have a Duramax with 10" of lift(not as tall as yours was...lol) and my lights are NOT bright at all! Think I could have some voltage loss somewhere? Install is very straight forward. Can't think of why else they aren't as bright as the videos of yours. Any thoughts? Thank you sir

I’m not real sure man may just want to check voltage at the splitter and make sure they’re getting 12v , are they DBA ? If so message the owner and he can better help you diagnose

@@JUSTINHAWKSMITH yes DBA...bought them based your video! I bought 12 and installed. No where near as bright! Did you have 12?......or a lot more?? I might connect to separate batteries and see. I habe them on separate switches. When they are all on, I turn off the wheels lights and the undercarriage get brighter and when the undercarriage are off, the wheel lights get brighter...... gotta get this figured out! Thanks man

i would argue jw's are cleaner because youre not gonna have a big ass bundle of wires that you would with the plug and play which isnt very "show truck" like

If you know how to run and hide wire you wouldn’t have a bundle of wire once your done so the cleanses of a install is all up to who’s installing it 🤦

just installed these last week on my truck and i didn’t cut any wires so i ended up with a lot of extra wire but it was super easy to just to make a couple small bundles of the wire and zip tie it in my engine bay. you can also cut the wires and make them whatever length you need so these are definitely the way to go. 10/10

Hahahaha every rock light goes in a different location but yet every rock light has the same length wire, so yeah unless you shorten / lengthen all the rock lights to be the exact same length under the hood you will have excess wire , has nothing to do with installer , may want to sit and think about that for a second. Lol

Kylan , I agree. Thanks for your comment. I don’t think alpha dog realizes they all have the same length wire on them , so when each light goes in different location all lights will have excess / difference in length wires.

Ok im going to throw my 2 cents into the pot. I currently have some rock lights that have butt plugs. LOL. and i have to say if your daily driving the truck and using it they will not be your friend. Now i didnt install these so i can say it could have been done better but i have had nuthing but issues with having to redo connections due to them getting wet. I would much rather have the plug and play option. in my opinion that takes away points of problems. Again this is my 2 cents as a person that dailys a truck with rocklights and they are on if its dark. I will be changing to DB after the winter. Keep it real justin.

Plug and play is complete trash for clean builds. Best way to get a clean setup is to cut wire to proper length and solder and seal using marine heat shrink. Butt connectors are sent out for the DIY installer. Use them if you want. I’ve installed plenty of plug and play kits and have to say they are a pain in the ass to make a clean install. Your beef with jw must be outta jealousy. Love this childish play.
