I made mat in 2020 when covid happened. No one got to see the routine I was part of. My third year (2021) i got injured and was told I needed surgery. Being on mat was no longer an option. On or off the mat, I would not change my time at Navarro for anything. I was able to learn cheerleading that i never thought i’d do. I can’t wait for people to realize that there is a whole semester where there is no mat, there is no 20 people, it’s every person doing the exact same practice, same skills & putting in the same amount of hard work. :)
