I bought one after seeing Justin Johnson's review. It was the only Bromo BAR5CE in stock I could find anywhere in the USA online (Rondo Music). I was expecting to return it but I was blown away with the quality, the all solid wood construction, Amara ebony back/sides and fretboard, mahogany neck with 2 ebony strips, ornate abalone fret markers/sound hole and entire top edge and mother of pearl headstock logo. It has flame maple binding on the entire body. It also included a nice quality padded gig bag! After a week of playing it opened up and now sounds incredible and too good to be true for only $499.00 !!!👍

My favorite guitar, of my two dozen musical instruments, is 50 years old. I bought it around 1975. It is on its third set of tuners, new bone nut, neck broken twice and reset, second bridge, third bone saddle, and the finish had worn off, so I painted it green and black (NC lacquer) with gold pine trees and flourishes by my wife. Cost me $25 back in 1975, all solid woods. It is now ugly but plays and sounds wonderful. Looks aren't everything. It also still smells slightly of campfire. An added bonus. BTW: Don't get me wrong, I want a Bromo 5CE, it's just that my wife would divorce me, and I would starve to death. Priorities, doncha know...

By the way, I wanted to emphasize a key concern I have that you addressed really nicely! I've heard that playability is super important for a newbie in order to be willing to pick the guitar up and play it regularly. My sense is that there can be a real disconnect between playability and affordability, so I just wanted to mention, that although I love a great sounding guitar; getting a guitar that is both playable and affordable is a big deal and I thank you very much for addressing that quality of this guitar!

Very impressive guitar for the price, and a great demo. To me it sounds balanced and articulate, though a just a touch more midrange-forward than I prefer. Side note, thank you for explaining the issues that come from buying a cheaply made guitar! I stress this to beginners all the time, that a guitar that is harder to play than it should be and doesn't play in tune will discourage them from continuing on their journey because it makes them feel like they're doing something wrong. In reality they're just playing a toy disguised as a musical instrument, so it will never sound musical. I never tell someone they need something expensive, but I do emphasize the importance of getting something worth what you pay for it.

I have an Ibanez Performance PF5 from the 90s, made in Korea. It's only a solid top, with laminated back and sides and it is one of the best sounding acoustic guitars I have ever played on, and I have played many high end guitars. Sometimes you just get lucky.
@ej27962 ай бұрын
I try to make this point often, as it's surprising how many even first experienced players haven't realized yet that this is a 100% real phphenomenon. For electric guitars its very easy to consistently duplicate identical sounding/playing instruments over and overvwith practically zero variation. But for acoustic guitars, this is not the case at all. Most have described at least one experience with playing a high end guitar, and just not hearing/feeling that tone or "magic" that the guitar has given the model a reputation of having a exceptional sound. What they don't realize is they likely experienced a "dud" (that or a poorly humidified floor model with old, cheap strings that most guitars ship with from the factory). But by the very nature of construction, every acoustic guitar is unique, each and every one. 2 guitars of the exact same make/model will nearly always have some slight (but noticeable by experienced ears) differences in how they sound & play....and there exists the possibility that some are born VERY different from thier siblings! If you are lucky enough to find one of the unicorns, don't hesitate....buy it. There is a very real phenomenon that occurs where a production guitar by pure chance receives exceptionally well matched cuts of wood and the bracing and/or construction joins just happen to fall exactly where a master Luther would choose when custom voicing his creation. Sometimes the stars just align, and results in pure magic that is impossible to replicate even if you tried again a thousand times. I'm lucky enough to own one. I hope everyone who finds one recognizes what they have in their hands...be it a $400 dollar "beginner" model...or a high end build. Buy it ig you are able to and cherish it. You may not find another for many years.

Looks great and sounds great too. Sadly not available here in Australia. I’d love to try it. Cheers

How can I despise someone and admire them at the same time! Man, that sounds awesome. You rock man!

If anyone is looking for a good beginner acoustic, I recently played a $399 Breedlove at a music store and it was very nice for that price. Also, I had an Alvarez AD60 that I paid about $375 for, and it was really nice, too. Now I have a Taylor and know better, though, lol!

Where do you find a guitar with solid woods, flamed maple purfling, abalone inlays, closed back tuners, Fishman electronics, and decent tone and sustain?

First, I really appreciate your music. Great stuff! But I believe you could play a galvanized pipe brazed to a washtub with strings attached. Some people can play a Gibson and still sound bad...

Acoustic pickups have apparently come a long way. I remember when they practically sounded like an "effect". Cool guitar!
