Freddie was fluent in Portuguese...as you can see....he was in boarding school in India...India had been colonized by Portugal...he pinches her cheek...back in the day that was a sign of affection...they’re talking about the video of “It’s a Hard Life”🤩

I give Freddie credit for ever allowing himself to be interviewed because he hated it and the press was always trying to attack him in a subtle way which was not so subtle. I think many were jealous of Freddie. He was unique in every way.

I feel the same way about how people were jealous of Freddie and tried so hard to make his life miserable.. One thing I have discovered while reading comments every day is; there are people writing really awful hurtful hateful comments about Freddie. I don’t understand why anyone would do that for no reason whatsoever, and it makes me feel so sad 😔

I need to say something about the interviewer who asks about I whant to Break Free being for the gay community, her name was Glória Maria and years later she became the biggest journalist here in Brazil, unfortunately she recently passed away too. At that time she was inexperienced and they passed these questions on to her on purpose because the others didn't want to get burned! In an interview she told how Freddie noticed and was kind to her, helping her to become more comfortable (it was Brazil's first time hosting a foreign musician, can you imagine the pressure?) She admired him a lot and didn't understand English well at the time, so this confusion

you are right about roger. because he plays the guitar as well and often plays the guitar on his own songs and in his solo band The Cross, he is the singer/guitarplayer! not the drummer. So, yeah, he wants to be out there in the spotlight :)

roger was lead singer in the band called reaction from about age 14 to 18 before he joined Brian and Tim to form smile so I think he was just used being the front man

Roger Taylor is the most prolific of the group outside of queen, 6 solo studio albums, a live album and a compilation plus three more albums with The Cross

There were segments in this (3:55 to 4:35, 6:00 to 6:25, 7:30 to 7:45) that are parts of Freddie's lengthy interview with Molly Medrum (the full thing is 28 minutes long)... It's an excellent interview, one of my favorites, because Fred and Molly were friends, so Fred was quite relaxed/informative. Molly also did an interview with Freddie in 1977 (18 minutes long), and it's really interesting to compare HOW MUCH Fred had changed over the years!

It's A Hard Life" . . . the three sorta always imply they hated that video. It's however stood the test of time.

Roger is one to never avoid the spotlight. The bassist is the one that wrote the song, the one with the wife and kids, he was the one to dress in drag or his girlfriend at the time did. Roger did front The Cross, a band that he fronted in Queens down time. Has several wonderful solo albums also. Freddie always said they were all equal partners, 25% each. The video was a take off of the soap opera Coronation Street (A British soap opera) at the time.

I love Roger's music. His cd (Happiness?) is my favorite. Definitely much deeper lyrically than Queen music and I love his voice.

This is a nice interview compilation. When Freddie gets to the one with Gloria Maria (rip 2023) in Brazil, she'll ask him the question in English, then repeat in Portuguese. Notice he messes with her by changing his answers! That rascal Freddie. As for videos, they have only themselves to blame! It was their own "Bohemian Rhapsody" video that helped to kick off the whole video craze. Roger was the "rockstar" of the group! :)

About the expenses of making videos: the BoRhap video was the cheapest one, completed for 4500 pounds (1975), but the Breakthru video in 89 which was grandiose enough, costed more than 200 000. They were never afraid of making themselves kind of fool for a good idea. Roger formed his own band The Cross besides the Queen, in which he was the frontman.
