Just got back into fishing the last 2 years after a lengthy break and after giving away all my rods and reels, I had to invest in new ones. I purchased your 6’9” Heater and it was the best rod I have ever fished (not blowing smoke). I also bought a 6’10” Response (spinning) for dropshot rigs. I bought other brands and your 6’9”, in my opinion was I best rod I have ever fished. This year I purchased 3 more (7’4” (x2) and 7’5”) for different applications (jigs & cranks), but I have yet been able to give them a try because winter has set in here in Maryland. It was cool to see you go through your set-ups, so possibly people will know what reels, line, lures and applications they pair best with. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. I picked up the 6'9 medium moderate heater rod. It is fantastic but I went to the dark side and put a Tatula SV TW 100 on it.

Hell yeah bro…I have a ton of rods and reels (heaters, mfers and cashions) and friends and the wife don’t get it…I work hard to enjoy my hobby as well and get out of lake Champlain as much as possible. Does the handle length on the Rick Clunn rod seem too long? Personally, I found the length of the rear grip to be an inch or 2 longer than I like on 6th Sense rods. To be clear, this was not the Heater series, but the Team 6 series which appears to have the same handle length as the Rick Clunn rod.

I will let you know if the grip length has any effect on fishability when I get it out on the water. I don’t mind the longer grips personally. Heaters are a bit shorter no doubt. Split grips FTW.

I only have 7 rods I use for different types of lures or techniques. Just don't have a ton of room to store my gear. Oh man, that quote, I remember it from the original Turtles movie from way back. I'm not sure if that's where it originated, though. Cans wait for warmer weather so I can get back out to the water
