I've played open G for years and cobbled a version of this song together, but it's sooooo nice to have someone show me the little bits that make the song what it is. I vaguely remember you saying a few years ago (possibly on your Song Requests forum?) that people shouldn't expect you to do many lessons on Rolling Stones songs, because it was awkward to get the licence to publish lessons and transcriptions - something similar to the issue that meant you had to take down your Sweet Child O'Mine lesson. Has something changed to allow you to do more lessons on Stones songs now... or am I misremembering what you said before?

Another trick to keep from removeing the 6th string, I pull it out of the nut to the side of the neck. Works very well for me!

It was actually Mick Jagger who wrote the song after Kieth Richards had taught him this tuning.Mick wrote it while in Australia making the Ned Kelly film.

I use Open E Tuning & put a capo on the 3rd Fret instead to get Open G w/ a High G string. The High G on the Treble side adds a bit more clarity.
