It’s not nostalgia, I assure you. The mark 3 was a design marvel, it’s objectively better in design and function than anything later on in the films.

As time went by the designs became too sleek, the Mark 3 had just the right balance of mechanical function and hot rod style. When I think of Ironman that's the image the comes to mind.

The Mark 3 is the only suit that they took on a mechanical engineering approach to. They actually made the whole suit, where the rest were just pieces and filled in with CGI later. It is arguably the most bad ass looking suit with the mk7 a close second.

Yeah. I think I'm more positive towards the later suits, especially the nano-suits, than most, simply because I like how blatantly comic-booky they are, but there's no beating the practical look and feel of the originals.

The Mark III is still my favorite Iron Man armor. It's just so iconic and it gives me nostalgia of the first Iron Man movie and the fact that they actually had scenes where it was practical instead of CGI makes ot so much better.

The Mark 3 had dark maroon paint rather than red. But Hot Toys and other toy companies never get it right. The first Hot Toys Mark 3 released back in 2009 had the correct maroon paint. But still, this one looks much better than the awful 1.0 candy apple Mark 3 released in 2015.

After watching your review, I decided to go ahead and order this figure, from the aftermarket. It just came in, last night and I have to say, I'm blown away! I love everything about it ... except my shoulder missile launchers are backwards, too! I'm about to see if I can fix them, without breaking them. But otherwise, this is a 10/10. I got weak and ordered this guy yesterday. It is just too good to pass up. Already have the Mark 4 Diecast and Love it but I always wanted a good version of the OG Armor designed by stan winston studios, where they put actual thought in how the armor works. The prvious Mark 3s in 1/6 were all lackluster IMO. This time they finally got it right

Thanks. It worked! You’re right about the pole stand. It makes for an awkward pose with limited space. Not very practical. I just ended up placing the figure behind the base, looking like he’s standing behind the destruction.

RDJ is only about 5-8 or 5-9 in real life, I guess he's supposed to be around 6-1 in the movies, so when you add in his helmet and boots it makes the Iron Man armor height of 6-5 more palatable, I guess, still not buying it, lol.

The shoulder gap has the easiest solution ever that even threezero knows it, yet hot toys still doesn't know, it's to make the shoulder ball piece bigger and extend out for articulation

Oh man I've been eagerly waiting for this vid, as I really wanted to see the paint work under your lighting! Great review Justin. I'm trying to come up with reasons not to buy this, cos it looks stunning and... nostalgia. 1 - I wish they had've done the same base as the Mk 1 & new classic comics Iron Man, just so there was a bit more continuity with the releases. The Justice League figures all look amazing on the identical stands. How good would Mk 1, 2 & 3 look all on those stands?? 2 - I would have liked a head / helmet with the flip up magnetic visor. 3 - A shame we didn't get USB lighting. There are some great customisers doing it (I dont mean Fusion reactors etc. Its just 1 plug & wire for all the lights) but its an expensive process and it can limit the articulation slightly. Maybe one day Hot Toys? I never realised how tiny Mech Test Tony is! Wow. Tiny Tony. And a new Mk 2 must happen now!

The original does have the flip faceplate helmet but that’s where the comparison ends. I cannot wait for Hot toys to ship mine. I missed out on the original. I am doubly happy to get this remake/re-sculpt.

QA should be fired cuz he or she missed some big mistakes 1: he shoulder missiles are backwards 2: chest plate is not magnetic 🧲 and 3: diorama is to small come on we’re in 2023 and they haven’t figure out to use USB & replace the batteries? Overall I give it an 8 cuz that chest plate will break in the future and it will leave the figure half way finished and no longer displayable.

@@JustinsCollection yeah I know. I’m sticking with my v1.0 but I did spy on eBay someone selling the v2.0 accessories which I’ve picked up (mainly for the crushed helmet) and should receive shortly . I think the dart launchers will be the same BUT if they turn out to be the right way round, they’re yours if you want them (or indeed if they’re wrong and you fancied trying to “fix”).
