I just picked up the 1.0 for a really great price and I don't think I'm missing out too much. I don't have room for the use display from the 2.0 and the overall figure looks exactly the same with minor paint differences if you compare them right next to each other. Love this figure!

This is awesome for people who didn't have the original diecast. I already had the original, and I dont have room for that amazing base so I had to pass. The new paint finish on suit and the weird head sculpt isnt enough for me 2 get this version. Great review as always! Just a matter of time till a 2.0 of the Mark 4.

Yeah, definitely a 1.5 but still a VERY good 1.5. For me, to be called a 2.0 it needs to be like the mk 3 2.0 - substantial improvements. At this point, if they are going to do 2.0s they should incorporate the ground pound pose with proper articulation and the plug in feature to light up the figure instead of the button cell batteries - despite the lifespan of LEDs. If they want to keep things fresh with Iron Man they should really start looking at making more of the House Party Protocol diecast. They have silver centurion suit up so just make the figure. Make Blue Steel as well. AND Diecast Starboost!!!

Got mine yesterday after seeing this vid a few weeks ago and ordering as soon as I found a good price. Love the stripped back armour look, he really looks like he is wearing a real suit made of exotic metals and cutting edge technology. God knows where I'm going to stick the Gantry but its a cool display base and am glad I paid the extra for it. So yet again Justin, you tempted me with another cool and balanced review and I'm not a strong willed person! Looking forward to the next one.

Awesome review! The figure could've been even better if they added the battle damage onto the legs and arms. The way they did for the new 1/4 scale version. That said I like the weapons that come out of his gauntlets and shoulders and the gantry is so cool

Hey Justin, great review as always. I never had the Mk 1 but I do get your point about reissues with minimal changes. Iv had this in my collection for just over a week and love the presence of the gantry with iron man, it draws the eye straight away. The figure itself is fantastic love the paint and accessories, the face sculpt isn’t perfect and I would have preferred a helmeted headsculpt much like yourself, but the rolling eyes are a good option. The accessory pieces for the under suit are really well detailed and make the Mk VI stand out, though I do feel the chest piece is too pronounced, and why didn’t they make the regular chest piece, battle damaged chest piece and the mesh piece magnetic, having those plastic posts is asking for trouble they’ve down magnetic chest pieces before and the thigh pieces are magnetic so that doesn’t make sense to me. I am however a little disappointed with the gantry, the steps are well painted and the light up feature for the stairs and blue lights coming from the gantry itself are fantastic, but overall the gantry feels a little cheap to me, I also don’t think the gantry has enough paint apps and the gantry arms are too plain with only one paint element, some more texture and paint apps of wear and tear use would of set this off, especially when comparing it to the 1/6th scale Mk IV gantry, which I think HT did a better job with compared to the Mk VI gantry. Don’t get me wrong I still love the overall look of the display it’s great, however if I had the option to get this again I think I would have just gone for the Mk VI alone.

If the ball joint socket is still in one piece but just cracked you can add a little super glue to bind it all together. Once this is dry you can dip the ball of the arm joint ball in some Future floor polish. This will dry and increase the size of the ball. You can also paint the ball joint socket with Future too. When it is all dry you can gently re-attach these arm. You may need to add extra coats if it is still loose. This technique also works well on loose ankle ball joints. Remember of course that it will never be as tight as a brand new perfect figure...but it wont be flopping around in the breeze if you do a good job.
