I also noticed this entire arc was about Natural power vs Artificial power Earned vs unearned and Goku and vegeta kept up eveytime till the very end where frieza came in and how they kept is is the basic saiyan biology on full display vegeta brought senzu beans for a reason eveytime goku and vegeta healed they got a zenkai boost even when the senzu beans ran out they got another zenkai boost from getting healed by the old namkeian guy effectively showing us on full display the constant power creeps on a saiyan if they can heal which was able to keep up with a being who got stronger from a curse I just found it very brilliant thebwhole premise of the arc and how it played out with gas on his last leg and goku and vegeta back up yet again 😂😂then frieza crashes the party

I honestly think gas’s story is the most dark we’ve seen in super. Gas was a little kid for his race at the start of the arc and over the course of a few hours this kid burned through his entire life for the sake of his big brother. And In the end?when gas is literally falling apart elec is just mad and belittling him over the fact he hasn’t killed goku and Vegeta, the world weary look on gas’s face as he realises the monster he’s become only to be killed shorty after. Heart wrenching stuff man….

No. gas and granola are only a couple years older than Goku since they were kids when goku was a baby. Possibly 3-5 years older than bulma. goku is 14 and bulma is 16 when they first meet in Dragonball proper. goku is a baby in a utero tank when Bardock fights gas. Bardock is killed by freeza as a young 20 something father on planet vegeta.

For clarification Bardock's wish has nothing to do with Goku's powerups the wish was for his sons Goku and Raditz to survive and grow up, the wish was finished when theyve reached adulthood probably around the time where Raditz died? Or when goku married chichi. It was all up to them when they start growing up to become strong all their training was up to them.

this arc had balanced power scaling. People complained about the wishes, when that was the exact message the arc was tryna teach. Even with all that power, granolah and gas couldn’t use it without proper experience, training, or a real purpose to fight. Frieza of all people showing up in the end after 10 years of training just proves it.

Took four months after biting the bullet to nearly be on par with Goku and Vegeta, but hadn't taken the time to master his new technique so he lost. Did the ToP to get proper experience and gained from it. Tried to get someone else to do the job and got beaten for an hour straight for that. (Hi Broly.) Then pulling the reveal of him putting in the time and effort to pull a 'golden form' correctly this time, instantly sealing the lesson while positioning him as extremely dangerous, a villain that learned from his mistakes but remains evil.

It’s a lot more wholesome than anything, we get some character building rather than just “ha ha new form” goku learning sayian pride rather than hearing vegeta rambling about it. This arc is nearly perfect, obviously frieza is just kinda thrown in to get people exited for the future but there are some drawbacks. Two people wishing for the same thing in the same arc was kinda mundane “make me the strongest in the universe” it sound like something you’d do as a kid to win those game you played with your friends

there are few things i didnt like the first two revolve around the dragon balls, only having two and the fact they don't turn to stone after a wish i guess its for plot convince but i don't like it. also dragon balls usually only are able to grant wishes within their power but this one is well normally i couldn't but if you exchange something i can it just seems weird. what i do like is power gained through training and not wishes ultimately wins out in the end and also the flashbacks to bardock battle was a nice touch. especially since it awakens goku and vegeta and frieza arrival brings it back to og Dagon ball and one of goku earliest lessons their will always be somebody stronger. overall a solid arc id give it a 7/10

Good job as always man! As for the arc it was enjoyable for sure with some really cool scenes and drawings here and there. However it suffered from frustrating plot holes, some poor dialogues and biased power-ups (the Bardoc's 5 min. story made Goku and Vegeta somehow advance their forms with no training and go from below Granolah to above Gas). Overall I would give it 6.5/10!

I’m confused as to why Granolah and Gass have instant teleportation, but the gods don’t even have that ability. Maybe the powers granted are based on the strongest mortals in the universe right now. And Goku is probably one of them. So, they should have that power to be stronger than him. But still, weird stuff.

While I was hip to many plot points from this, tonight was my first time getting to experience the story properly. And honestly, this saga was pretty cool. Pretty self contained story. Even if they dont adapt this arc into anime, I hope to see Ultra Ego added into the larger story one day.
