hey folks! would love to hear your feedback on this new format for the channel. I'm just getting over a cold so pardon my nasally voice, also definitely have to work on my mic placement and mixing better. Let me know your thoughts! 🤍

It's a dope format. Definitely feels podcast-y like Ryan was mentioning 😂 but only in essence of having the mic setup. Otherwise it just feels like a regular q&a/discussion style video that would be included in like a vlog.

Love it! Always interesting to see your channel evolving! We would like to know for a future “2 Guys with Mics” How did you two meet? Who made the first move? It’s very different when it’s two bi guys trying to feel each other out and see if the other is interested. Love you guys! Keep up the great work!

I love this. And I'm exactly how you are, Joe. I need notice to prepare myself before any unexpected event. Sometimes it's inevitable, but when I can help it, I'll rather plan ahead if I have to socialize. If I'm going to do something by myself though then I'm really spontaneous.

I lucked-out in early 2008 meeting my future husband in the comments page of a You Tube video (no kidding!) We lived across the country from the other so we e-mailed each other every night and got to know each other over the two years before he was able to move out to be with me. We married in 2016 and we were very, very happy for the fifteen years we knew each other until he passed away recently! It is wonderful to hear your story! Enjoy it all, guys!

For some reason I loved your (negative) reaction to calling it a podcast, but I enjoyed this podc... I mean... new format. It seemed more intentional and discussion focused than a typical Q&A. I enjoyed the interaction between the 2 of you, I liked seeing Jasper walk back and forth in the background, I found your update on making friends (using Bumblebee, etc.) and the idea of "infiltrating an established friend group" and then making friends individually within that group interesting and useful, and for reasons unknown, I found Ryan's reason for liking you and liking to be with you heartwarming. Overall: A+

Do y’all ever feel like when making friends with coworkers, in Ryan’s case, there is that initial hesitation on whether or not it’s worth coming out to this person? I often feel like I have two versions of myself being the worn version and the outside of work queer person and trying to blend the two as I become friends with coworkers can be challenging

I'm a lesbian and feel that way too. When I first started working where I work I didn't know how the people would react (there were a lot of older professionals i didn't want to feel judged) so I mentioned that I wanted to take some time off to see my bf.. since then I've learned that they are the most accepting people out there, but they still refer to my girlfriend as a boyfriend since I haven't corrected them yet. Its horrible but I feel double trapped, because I lied first and because I don't want to be the lesbian of the office and come out. I feel you
@brettdarling1178
@brettdarling1178 Жыл бұрын
I think it’s difficult, because, you don’t just come out once in your life, you come out all the time when you meet people. Your sexuality doesn’t define you. If someone asks me I tell them, but I don’t greet someone and follow up with I’m gay, just like a straight person wouldn’t come up and say, I’m straight. Now that I’m married it seems to come more naturally, I think as you get older you don’t seem to care as much what other people think, even in a work environment. Work should feel like a safe place, if it doesn’t then it may be time to seek a different place. If you lied to fit in, it’s easy to back track and tell everyone after that you didn’t know what the reaction would be, or play it off that they misheard and that your partner is the same sex as you. Either way, if it is a safe work place, they will understand and accept you for your work ethic and not your sexuality. That isn’t why you got hired. You got hired because you were the best fit for the business. 💕

I have been working half a year with some of my favourite people, seriously couldn’t have asked for better coworkers we even go out sometimes, I trust them with anything, I know they wouldn’t care about my sexuality but I just don’t feel like I have to tell them? I’m not sure, I just don’t see it as something important and the fact that they have never asked me just makes me love them even more… I’m not uncomfortable I just don’t think it’s important and the topic hasn’t come up yet lol.

16:20 is where Joe tried very hard to convey he knew what Ryan was talking about, even though he really didn't. But yeah, moving away from home is important for a lot of people. I felt like no one gave my resume a second look until I moved to Seattle from San Francisco. Even though it was very very hard to be far away from my family and everything I knew, I look back on that as the most important time of my life.

I’ve been feeling really unsatisfied a year after graduating uni cus i’ve been stuck in the same house, same city, and same environment that i’ve been wanting to move away from it. Like my current work is okay, the pay is minimum cus I am a fresh graduate but I’m still not satisfied with it. Hearing you guys speaking about experimenting and self searching, this is what i’ve been wanting to do and its kind of reassuring that what i’ve been feeling is very valid.

it is always a great idea to mix up your content and adding this podcast to your mix is a great idea. the whole coming out thing is life long but back in the 1990s before the internet and smartphones everyone went out on a regular basis and thus it was pretty easy to meet new friends out and about. Those new friends would introduce you to other friends and so on and it really did not matter who you were. Sadly those days are mostly gone. Also, moving to another city will mean needing to meet new friends and thus it makes moving more of a challenge these days. It is very exceptional for two guys to just hit it off on their first time dating but if you guys are really into each other than it is a great thing.

Great watch as always and dope discussions. The housing crisis thing is definitely one thing that stops me from moving to Vancouver coz i could technically move but I don't think I'm in a comfortable position in my career yet to make that move. Those rental prices would be eating into my paycheck a lil more than I'm comfortable with lol. And so true about the meal prepping thing and bulk cooking. Meal prepping has been a god send for me not only for just making me have less things to do after work on weekdays but definitely helps stretch some foods like the examples you gave when you can bulk cook some meals and just have them prepped for Mon-Fri and basically do that every Sunday so I only really find myself cooking extravagant for like Saturday and Sundays.

I am so much smitten with this adorable and sweet couple, particularly when hearing Ryan talking to Joe with this very caring and soft voice… However, Ryan’s definition of “extroverted” takes on a humorous twist. He claims to be an extrovert, yet remains silent around those he doesn’t know or finds uninteresting. This sparks a series of satirical analyses. Firstly, the so-called “extroverted” nature of Ryan boils down to selective interaction, limited to people he finds interesting(I guess attractive). It’s quite amusing because genuine extroversion should involve easy communication in various situations, not just cherry-picking favorites. Alternatively, one could jestingly point out that Ryan’s version of “extroversion” is merely a selective process, where he chooses those who meet his standards while dismissing the rest. It appears more like being choosy than genuinely extroverted.

I can do totally relate to almost all the topics you both discussed :) particularly Vancouver being lgbtq+ friendly, and making friends. I think we reach the age when we become more particular with who we meet and engage with. I think as we get a bit older, we really value how we’re gonna invest our time into other people/friends. A lot if people (if not, all) have already established relationships and maintaining those. Thanks for sharing, I really value your posts. It’s hard to filter what’s legit content full of substantial posts social media but yours definitely is valuable 😊. Maybe next post, what do you guys keep on your freezer/fridge :) perhaps in support to a healthier lifestyle? I am no expert, but I believe it might have something to do with the positioning of the mics. Ryan’s was positioned more in front of him and there was less incidence of sound drop off as he moved his head compared with Joe’s that was more positioned off to the side so when he turned to his right toward Ryan the sound dropped?
