This review is definitely pro-Apple: "Samsung does not understand what makes Apple is so magical... Samsung does not understand ecosystems, etc." (all this from 11 minutes onward). Magical! I own a Galaxy Book Pro 360, an S23 Ultra, a Tab S9+, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. I think the Samsung ecosystem is very good.Samsung may have fumbled with the heat issues, but in everyday use, I am happy with its performance. The ecosystem is the reason I hardly touch my official laptop, an HP Spectre 360. Let's hope the ARM on Windows lives up to the hype, so the heat issues can be laid to rest.

This channel seems biased against Samsung, and it seems like all your reviews of Apple products are positive, encouraging people to purchase them. Apple has yet to introduce a touch-screen laptop, unlike many other companies. They restrict access to parts and repair manuals and do not support right-to-repair initiatives, which would make it easier and more affordable for users to repair their devices. Instead, they often push customers toward buying the latest versions of their products.

Josh, i have a problem with your take that the apple ecosystem is better. Better for who? I have 14 inch MacBook pro. I also have a Z fold 4 with galaxy buds and a Galaxy watch. There is no ecosystem to speak of between my apple laptop and my galaxy devices. The MacBook is by far the better laptop. But the apple ecosystem only works with other apple devices. Samsung users might appreciate the laptop in the Samsung ecosystem more than having a MacBook that is divorced from their other devices.

When choosing a laptop, the balance between battery life, silent-mode performance, and lightweight design is crucial. If high performance is a necessity, a desktop may be a more cost-effective option. I am seeking reviews that focus on realistic usage scenarios, such as over eight hours of light use, low noise levels, and good performance in silent mode, with a 15-16" screen and lightweight build, for my child who will be attending university this fall. But, most reviewers are focusing on performance at max mode... that I think is misleading people.

I just purchased this laptop for the THIRD time. I fell in love with the beauty of it to be honest. It really is a gorgeous looking machine. However, when it comes reliability it left me wanting. I had to return the first one I purchased because it was randomly rebooting when I had it plugged into two 2K UW monitors while coding. I returned the second one mostly because I found it at a better price but I did get the Blue Screen Of Death on it once. Also, before returning the second machine I reset it (through the Windows settings) which stuck the laptop in an infinite boot loop. So why then did I purchase it a third time? Well, with the laptop currently being on sale I will end up getting it for $1149 before tax (Actually $850 after some credit card "hacks" and a discount from my job). I am most likely going to sell it and then get either an HP Spectre or Macbook Air/Pro. My only concern about getting a Macbook is that I very likely need to run Windows and the ARM version of Windows 11 may not be compatible with my needs. (Any replys here about Windows on a Mac are welcome). Here is a pro/con list from using this computer for a few weeks as my main machine: Pros: If you are using this laptop on a desk for office related tasks (not maxing it out on performance like I was) then it really is a well performing laptop. I was able to multi-task very well on it and everything was snappy. It's super thin and light making it incredibly portable; moving it around the apartment one handed almost felt like holding a clipboard. It wakes from sleep almost immediately and the fingerprint reader is almost instantaneous. The keys felt great to use and I could open the lid with one finger on a non-slippery surface. It looks just like a Macbook which was definitely a selling point that appealed to me. Lastly, the display is truly amazing. If you want a laptop for streaming Netflix or viewing content then this laptop is a very good choice. Cons: This laptop gets HOT. It didnt burn my fingers when using the middle function keys, but it got close. I certainly wouldn't want to hold my finger against the top center of the keyboard during any mid to heavy use. The bottom (top-center) gets quite hot as well, to the point where when I had it on my lap in bed I was concerned that the sheets blocking the fan was going to cause it to overheat and melt the motherboard. Neutral: The laptop has "Quiet" mode where you can turn off the fan completely. This was a huge draw for me but as I often need the laptop for high performance tasks I was unable to benefit much from this mode. The times when I did have it on though and was just browsing the web it did a very good job of staying silent yet still being snappy. The CoPilot key is annoying. It is the same as pressing Win+C. They have taken a useful meta key and replaced it with only one viable function. For anyone wishing to customize this key (using AHK or something similar) it sends an F23 keypress. TL;DR If you want a super portable 14" clamshell with a gorgeous touchscreen display then the Galaxy Book4 Pro is a great choice (as long as you don't need it for more than viewing content or light office work, just like Josh said). Using this computer for high-end, performance intensive tasks should be avoided as you may see the computer overheat and shut down... but the silver lining is that when it turns back on it will reopen your apps where they were. I never lost any data but it was annoying.

The new one is sill getting hot and I got a black screen for one second when activating HDR. This happens when this function is activated or deactivated. And i have the impression that the new one is slower than the one i had before. Concerning the battery I used it full charged for 7 hours. It still had 2 h battery left.

The one major thing that this Samsung has over the MacBook is removable storage. As a Geeksquad repair agent, this is a really big deal as we can upgrade the storage if you need more later or can even get the data off the laptop in the vast majority of circumstances where laptop is damaged by just taking out the SSD. I have even gotten the SSD out and was able to easily recover the data of a few laptop that had water or coffee spilled on them. Getting data off a MacBook that has it's motherboard damaged is nearly impossible and would require a very expensive data recovery service if it is even possible. Of course this is never the ideal situation but since most people don't have proper backup's of their data these situations are common at the store I work at.

The 16" has a number pad on the side (the 14" does not) which are becoming harder to find. My Book 3 has 32GB RAM, an option on ordering. I know this: I can have multiple tabs streaming simultaneously and work comfortably in Photoshop and Illustrator. I'm not a coder and have only edited basic video, so that's not my bench mark -- if you love a 16" laptop as I do, take a look at THAT model. Beyond Satisfied for streaming and graphic design. I would disagree with your conclusion that "there isn't anything this laptop has over the MacBook Air except a touchscreen". Here are what it offers that the Air does not: 1. OLED panel (looks way better than the Air's screen; not even close) 2. HDMI port 3. Micro-sd slot 4. USB-A port 5. High refresh screen 6. Samsung apps if you want to use them. Ignore if you don't. Some are great, some are not. And the touchscreen is not a minor item for many of us; it is a deal-breaker. It is the main reason I returned my MacBook Air. Anyway, I am not saying everyone should buy this over the Air. It all depends on what you value. If you are doing video editing or some other high-performance tasks all day, get the Air. If you love the direct interface of the touchscreen, value a high-refresh OLED panel, want to avoid carrying (and losing) dongles, and are not already locked into Apple's ecosystem, then this may be a better option.

So his conclusion is valid; if the MB Air is good enough for you, buy it over the Samsung. But if you want something like OLED or a touchscreen, there are better choices than the Book4Pro. And by the way, many of us prefer a great IPS display to an OLED due to PWM dimming, lower max brightness, burn-in, and a glossy display of the Samsung.

I managed to snag one on an education discount for $1260 (taxes included) that also came with a 2TB external SSD. In theory this laptop should be good considering the specs, however given the specs it still manages to underperform. I'm getting random lag and it's driving me a little insane. Battery life isn't as good as people claim it to be either. I'll wait a couple more days to see if it stabilizes, but I doubt it. I'm pretty deep into the Samsung ecosystem and use Samsung Notes on my Galaxy Tab for university work every single day, and I hate how they went ahead and disabled it for non-Samsung laptops. I understand there's a workaround for it but who knows how long it'll last. Once I've graduated I'll probably be replacing this laptop with something better, but for now this'll do...

I had a samsung galaxy book 2 360(13.3 in) with an I5 processor. As a student, this did absolutely everything that I needed it to do. Of course if I had many tabs open or just simply tried to do too many things at once, there was without a doubt the occassional lag. I am now looking into getting either the Samsung Galaxy book 4(14in) or maybe the macbook m4. The only downside with the macbook, is that it does not have a USB A 3.2, which my logitech g305 mouse needs. I feel like for my needs as a student, the Samsung galaxy book 4(14in) will work perfectly.

Quick question samsung book 4 pro now here is 999 pounds while the same spec macbook air is 1500 pounds?.what should i do
@simwark7 ай бұрын
Ignore the listed launch price its already dropped by 100. I bought it at the launch price with tab s8 ultra included (£1599, UK pricing sucks always), which I could have resold for £500 so imo this is an £1100 ultra-portable 14" (Windows) machine that price seems more reasonable. No issue connecting the tablet or s24, apps are so, so but the quick settings, second screen, notes ect are good, but kind of agree about the main settings some of which just redirect anyway. Been a few bios updates since launch, I wonder if these have improved the poor performance scores at all? Also moaning about getting into the chassis, the rubber feet literally just pop off and 4 philips screws to get in, took me about 2 mins to add a second m2 drive (which this review fails to mention too)
@JustJoshTech7 ай бұрын
The rubber feet are unusual and I learnt this from you guys. So thank you for that. Normally not so easy. The Air also frequently drops by $200. And yes we had bios and all software and drivers up to date

The integration and collaborative performance of all my devices are exceptional, with an incredibly smooth interface. The Samsung Book 4 Pro 16-inch boasts a stunning AMOLED display, powerful Intel i7 processor, and an ultra-thin design, making it perfect for both professional and personal use. The Tab S9 features a vibrant Super AMOLED display, a long-lasting battery, and seamless connectivity with other Samsung devices. The negative points mentioned in this review are completely unfounded and lack practical basis. It appears to be a biased review from an Apple enthusiast.
