This video seals the deal on why I'm no longer interested in laptops and would rather go for handhelds like the Legion Go since gamers are more observant with what they buy, but pay the premium for the no-nonsense marketing with their prices.

NPUs are welcome as they can offload everyday tasks such as video background blur. Phi Silica is also promising. However, the OEM AI software and marketing slop is horrible. I picked up an OmniBook Ultra Flip (LNL) over the holidays and it's a sleek laptop aside from the "polystudio" logo on the side and HP's AI logo beneath the keyboard. I just want a well built minimal laptop without product marketing etched all over it. Finally, when booting Windows instead of the clean simple HP logo it now includes "Powered by AI Experiences" which is hideous and egregious.

good job josh - the main problem with laptops is that we dont have 16inch 4k+ oleds with 120hz yet, maybe the new dell premium will give us this option, but my hopes are not too high for this year. display technology has somehow not improved that much in the last years (resolution, brightness and refresh rate) ...

Using windows for most programming tasks is lame. MacOS and Linux are the best, the most professional choice for programming. So all laptops (except macs) should be checked if they compatible with linux.

Man, from a consumer point of view, you nail it! I have been looking into replacing an aging laptop and the waters have become muddied and this AI stuff is half baked at best. I would just like a clear premium path that has peak performance and battery life, ideally in a small, light form factor. It would really nice if there was a place we could just input priorities and it would spit out best fits across all brands and offerings to include recent used or on sale deals.

I am glad about you fighting back for content creators. I did use Honey approximately 4 years ago, but soon stopped a few months later. Since I like to tinker with things, I looked at how Honey worked behind the scenes. When I saw what was going on, I immediately quit using Honey.

Very good video, I love gaming laptops and I'm pretty much moved away from using desktop. I'm willing to give up a little performance to gain portability and convenience. But admittedly the buying process is mentally draining even as an enthusiast having to go through all them model numbers look up reviews. Lack of AMD chips at the high end in laptops. Power limit levels on gpus, cut down ram versus the desktop variants. Mis information by Nvidia on gpu naming. I know I'm in the minority but I would totally buy another enthusiast grade laptop with multiple power supplies like my g703. I love seeing tech like that. And yes the buzz of AI right now in any tech industry is annoying

Hey Josh, quick suggestion. It may be beneficial to add a dedicated "Business Use" section to your "Best Laptops". I found while looking through most of those that the MacBook laptops took up most of the options. It would be nice to see a dedicated "Business Use" section with a wider variety of Microsoft Surface, Dell Latitude, and Lenovo ThinkPad's. While Apple is a good at home use laptop it isn't the best business use laptop. That would be where the dedicated section for those specific series of laptops comes in. Just to add on to the "Ai Craze", there is no practical personal use for any integrated AI NPU core or otherwise. Even businesses do not use the AI in laptops. They use Open AI or other AI options to create data spreads and other applications. They do this through contracts over long periods of time for specific business use AI services not the AI in laptops. I hope you will take what I said into consideration.

Thanks that’s really nice form you to help make the internet slightly safer place, but a agin just avoiding fooling for it again I have to ask for transparency, what is it for you, you spend your time and money buy hiring other to help you building this code, what is the incentive here, is it purely for protecting, making us your views appreciate you more and be more loyal, chasing the low suite to gain something or simply out of your heart “a good well action” I believe is to gain more loyal viewers and ride the honey drama but it would be much clearer if it can be heard from you

Let me give you a little context so my response makes sense. I was a senior Managing Director at a large Wall St Bank. If I was after money, I would have just stayed in that job. I have several videos out on this topic. Look for ones around mid 2023. That's when I made the switch. I quit to do this full time because I wanted to do something I felt was more fulfiling and was helping people. With that said, this code was built for our own website and is being deployed next week. Rather than keep the code to ourselves, we all felt it would be great to share with others. Of course we'd love people to spread the word about our channel, but that's because we believe we are having a positive impact and helping people. Its not just to grow and make money. Everyone here would make more if they worked in a corporate.

I'd suggest to call it browser "extension" and not plugin. Plugin is the name for something different, and modern browsers don't support plugins anymore. Browser use the "extension" terminology so calling them as such will help visitors disabling the correct thing.
