CCTV is usually not good for two main reasons: (1) Data storage - if you are recording in 4K video then you will be able to store a lot less footage than if you record at a lower resolution. Storage may be cheap but it certainly adds up especially if you have to archive the footage for long periods of time as not every crime or suspicious event is investigated immediately. (2) Video surveillance, if done in a passive manner as in most instances, is viewed more as insurance. People generally go for the cheapest insurance and even insurance companies advertise cheaper prices (Geico, Progressive, etc) so quality is not something people splurge for when deciding on what camera to get just for surveillance.

The BART system has cameras but the last news I heard from them they stopped releasing footage of robberies because they didn't want to reinforce racial stereotypes. This was during a period when there were many cases of groups of 20+ "youths" would rush into the train and rob everyone and rush out.

i saw something really scary happen in a train station in italy. so essentially, on my train, there was a guy who tried to kidnap this girl at one of the stops but then someone came to her rescue and this fight ensued. so they had to lock down the entire train station and stop the trains so he couldn’t escape. it was fucking terrifying. my mum and i saw him before getting on the train and he gave us the chills. it was pretty fucking terrifying.

The reason why you can't have super HiRes Quality as CCTV Footage is because the amount of Data that is processed on a 24/7 basis and the fact they need to keep all of that information for a VERY long time would mean they would need a SHIT ton of storage to hold that amount of video feed.

mislam13 I was thinking the same thing but if I was ever in that situation I would also explain that I have allergies. That’s why I get mad at my boyfriend when I ask what is it and he says “food” I’m like ok could you tell me what it is exactly! I don’t have allergies but certain foods do upset my stomach pretty badly and I try to avoid those foods. Like avocados! I like them but they upset my stomach something awful
