Beautiful sunrise and countryside. The church is beautiful. Looks like a very spiritual experience. Stay healthy and safe. God bless! P.S. The snoring sound at the end was a nice touch😀😀😀

It was, indeed, a spiritual journey and all of the churches along the way were beautiful. It was comforting to be able to inside and pray along the Camino!

Rachelle, thank you for showing the inside of the monastery. Seen many videos of the outside, but this is the first time I've seen the inside. Burn camino.

You’re welcome! I think each floor is different but I’m glad I got a single bed and not a bunk. 😊

Walking down to Orrision the route splits, a steep descent or a longer winding route. I went on the longer route and got to Orisson faster that those of our group that went the short descent. I was warned by a chap that did the walk a year ahead of me that the descent was so steep his toes kept hitting the top of his boots and they ended up blackening and falling off.

Great stuff Rachelle. Just arrived in SJPP this morning. Absorbing the 'atmosphere'. Luv your description of the locking mechanism - I've encountered three completely different mechanisms in the hotels I've stayed at since arriving In Santander last Monday. Electronic cards that get their codes erased if near to a mobile😮 it did happen. Couldn't get back into the room. Then in Pamplona I had some real keys!!! but on arrival at the door you had to sort of turn the thing 3 times clockwise then 1 turn anticlockwise. Took a good 7 or 8 minutes to figure that one out. Before I went out for a meal I had to double check the process to make sure I could get back in again on return. Whatever happened to SIMPLICITY??? Your video is great as you appeared to have some wonderful weather. It's fine down here in SJPP. Hope it stays that way for tomorrow morning. Hope you continue having good fun on your way. I do believe you're one of the first Americans( us Brits do love y'all really) to use the word 'queue'. The one time that I was over I asked 'is the end of the queue?' and received the reply 'if you mean Are we standing in line then yes it is!!! 😟 It's great fun traveling around isn't it?

Snoring: best to bring ear plugs or even better put in some earbuds and listen to some music. :)

Thanks for your vlog. I have reservations for the 1900 dinner too. I didn't know what time the Mass was. Was there enough time to attend the Pilgrim's Mass?
@IllGetThere5 жыл бұрын
The mass is at 8 and they get you out of dinner in time. It’s all very close by. 😊👣

“Cheese moment” Funny, but you did the exact same thing that BDE Travels did when they crossed the border. In fact, they did it last year in their Spanish channel “Boleto de Embarque. “Are you watching their videos too? Because, they are AWESOME 😎...

The tragedy is that the French Way is utterly congested. It’s like the queue waiting to go up Everest. Over a 1000 ‘pilgrims’ a day entering Santiago from the French Way and most only doing the last 100km from Sarria to get a certificate. If you want the real Camino experience, do the Via de la Plata/Sanabres. Over 1000km of beautiful solitude with only a handful of other pilgrims.

I do agree there are more people than ever doing the CF, but I knew that going in and choosing this route. I think that’s the key-to do the research and find the one suitable for what you prefer. I don’t think my experience was any less “real” of a “Camino experience”, however. It just is what it is. And it was the most wonderful, enriching, and fulfilling journey for me. 😊👣

That was some weird snoring at the end! I didn't get to see that top floor for the Monastery - the lower two levels had bunks in units of 4 - 2 sets sets of bunk beds - rather than the singles you had on your floor... I think I'd have preferred the singles as there would have been only half the number of people sleeping up there!

Haha, right??? I was surrounded by a symphony orchestra!!! 🤪😫
