I took a little sandpaper to the edge of a wood ruler to produce a rounded, smooth side opposite the metal edge side. Apply light pressure. Zero bubbles on 8 1/2 x 11. Yahoo.

Great for indoors but might not last long in the elements if you try to sell your home made stickers. Sticker and graphic shops use specialty vinyl made for that type of use. Oracal 651 is vinyl not laminate, but you gotta work with what you got.

Thank you. I was tearing my hair out (actually I don't have any cos of Chemo :)) trying to work out how to do this. I was "attaching" but it was cutting out the letters as well. I have made sure I entered all the instructions in the project for when I have to do it again, cos I am sure I will forget. I didn't worry about the P&C size and layout, I just printed on A4 and adjusted the printer paper size, and DID NOT attach all the images and it just printed what was on the canvas. Do you have a video on what "weld" and "combine" etc is used for? (from Australia)

Oracal 651 is a calendared (typically indoor) vinyl that UV light breaks down much quicker than Oracal 751. The Oracal 751, which is a professional cast film, will last for seven years in the Florida Sun. Considering the increased cost per decal is minimal, always use the Oracal 751. Not to mention, removing the decal later is much easier because it does not rot or tear. I hope this helps, :).

Hey. We don’t sell our stickers. However, the best way to keep things flat is to not get them curled in the first place. Be careful when you’re removing them from the mat. Hope this helps!

Materials Update January 2023: Oracal changed what they were selling at the link in the description; it now points to a true lamination vinyl, which we have tried and loved. You can use either Oracal 651 clear vinyl (amzn.to/3JriqqU) or the Oracal lamination vinyl (amzn.to/40eWvsJ). Hope this helps!

Hello! We’re using the Cricut brand blade. As we have the Maker, we use the Premium Fine Point blade (white caps). If yours isn’t cutting all the way through, try a new blade or increase your pressure.

Howdy, I followed this tutorial exactly and used the same materials.......except I used a CRICUT EXPLORE AIR 2 that is a few years old. When I print on the sticker vinyl OR on regular paper, it is not picking up the Black alignmnet lines and keeps giving me error codes. ALSO.....when I do the calibration steps, the machine grabs the sticky pad and does perfect, but when its time to cut stickers it seems to not grab the pad correctly and will spin the wheels with the pad too far away from it. Any ideas?

Can you use this same process to make bumper stickers?

Hey! We’re so glad this was helpful. Wish we had some good fixes for ones that already curled, but we haven’t run into that. Maybe try setting them under something really heavy overnight…

Thank you so much for this video! I have the same sticker paper/laminate and used the settings for cutting with the cricut. However, it did not cut all the way through... Any suggestions?

Before ejecting from the cricut one should always check to make sure cut is complete. If it is not you can press the "C" button again for another round Happy crafting!

Hey! Sounds like you need more pressure. Pressure depends on the age of your blade, so sometimes you may need a little bit more. Hope this helps!

I've got the Brother Scan N Cut 125e and a color laser printer as well. Nice to see some steps in your video that carry over to my setup. How much are you spending on the OraCal laminate sheet? You might like the 3 types of lamination cartridges for the 900 series (9 inch) Xyron cold press lamination machine. * Full lamination both sides * Lamination + Adhesive (for making laminated stickers) * Lamination + Magnet (only 10 feet of material due to thickness of magnet material) Their lamination material is marketed as an archival, UV, pH neutral film that will not peel or separate once you cut into it. So you can use it to make custom cut shapes, to seal precious documents, make pool or aquarium art, decorative chew toys for your little fur baby, waterproof and fade proof magnetic art or puzzles for the fridge, vehicle, etc. The SDX 125e simplifies alot of the steps you're performing by allowing me to do it on the cutter itself or in their desktop software. Like I was saying it is nice to see how other folk are making cool stickers from home. Not so long ago these sorts of features were relegated to super pricey professional level plotters/cutters and print services.

Very interesting! We’ll have to check out the Xyron - had one of the smaller ones years ago. The only question we’d have on that is how to get around the issue of the Cricut needing the black line around the page for print and cut (and not laminating over that. Still something worth exploring! It’d be nice to simplify that step. Thanks for watching and for the tips!

@@JustMightDIY The sensor for the Cricut doesn't read through transparent laminates? So what setting would you use if you were trying to cut out clear water slide decals, or static clings, or even overhead transparencies from your laser printer so you can make sun catchers?

If they’re glossy, it could effect the sensor for print and cut according to what we’ve heard, through we haven’t tested that theory. We haven’t tried water slide yet. Again, it’s worth exploring for sure.

@@JustMightDIY You can stick some matte clear tape over the black lines around the page. You can also close the top lid to prevent light from reflecting off the shiny laminate. I've done both and it works great with my Explore Air.

Has to be Matte sticker paper correct? Been trying with glossy and the cricut can’t read the lines and cuts off every time.

If you're using glossy, put a strip of clear tape over the lines. Makes it matte so the cricut can read it. Hope this helps!

We have used this for similar, labels for jars of honey and business stuff!
