That is sad tho, that ever since by about 1990 ppl think that raising kids has to be so expensive. Obviously, nowadays with inflation etc. worse than ever, it might be... but b4 that, other than definitely needing to be close with God and depending on His provision sooner or later if He allows many hard or costly challenges to come your way, it really didn't need to be that bad. I was born in 1980, the 2nd of 8 of us. The last 5 were from 88 to 98, and I was around for all of it , working on our farm. From simple cloth diapers ( and clotheslines... and thrift sales ) to making own baby food with that non-electric, simple baby food mill (that's also fun for the older kids to use ;) ) to growing own food, caring for own kids while also if not farming, like mom, taking in other's kids or doing some part time work when hubby or older kids or grandma can be home/with the little ones. Again, I'm NOT saying this is easy to implement in a day for everyone, everywhere, in every circumstance. But for a LOT of folks, it could be do-able !! It really helps of course tho if the parents don't have unreasonable ideas of how much they can spend on luxury items like hair, nails, extra shoes etc. or sports, TV, etc. etc. . My parents made very little $ when I was little, their main income from the farm was the house to live in, electric, wood for heat, and "free" meat, milk and cheap cheese. But we worked 7 days a week most of time, and didn't spend much $. We ate simply and from scratch. If we couldn't afford it and didn't NEED it, we generally went without it. The average Joe back then didn't spend as much on luxuries as now, it seems, in spite of inflation being worse now.. . A lot of people couldn't have afforded cell phones etc. , or many extra shoes (unless they were from a thrift sale/store). Poor kids definitely didn't have shiny name brand stuff, phones, bling, tats... . Most of us couldn't afford to have their kids in things like Gymnastics, much less also drive em around to things several days a week regularly. In the early 80s, in rural-ish WI anyways, preschool seemed to be a newer thing and a lot of people didn't use it, much less drive 6 month olds to story times and play dates ! I'm not saying those things are bad ( although I do think they can be not as healthy as an old fashioned home life for a young child), but that it did NOT use to be at all normal. Kids were plenty healthy and well adjusted without them !

I immediately went to subscribe, like, and everything else. You're funny. Lol. I support it. You're relatable hilarity is excellent. Top notch. Tens tens tens across the board. Highly reccomend. I grew up the youngest. A surprise baby some 65 years ago, outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Cold weather gear for kids has certainly improved since then, most kids aren't reliant on hand-me-downs anymore so I'm sure they'll never know the joys of bread bags in boots with holes or tissue in the toes of every pair of ice skates. That said, I moved to the south before having my child. We get snow once in a while, schools close but I've not had to devote 45 minutes to prepare her to walk to the car, ever. Pretty good set Juston, clean comedy that's relatable. Thumbs it up for you.
