The (G)I-DLE members are always using m/v's and songs to deliver messages. For "FREAK", the message is, "Don't judge a book by its cover". In the beginning, you think it's scary because of the people who do not seem normal. But as the video moves along, you see them all having fun, being happy, and acting as normal as you or me. Yuqi wants everyone to know that they fit in this world, that the way you look or the way that people perceive you is only an uninformed view. It's a lot like (G)I-DLE's "NXDE", "ALLERGY", "QUEENCARD" and "TOMBOY". Marylin Monroe was so much more than how most people viewed her, Soyeon seemed like a nerd but was the life of the party that everyone wanted to be around, and if people only judge you by your gender, then they don't know the real you at all. The "FREAK" music video is a continuation of these great messages.

Fun fact: Yuqi mentioned that they already called her weird, but from her perspective, other people were weird, it was one of her inspirations for this song. Already in Could it be, you can see several references to dumdi dumdi, such as the suitcase and the car are similar as the ones that soyeon drives in dumdi dumdi and the cafeteria where she appears is the same as the one that shuhua works at.

No, the car is NOT the same as in Dumdi dumdi. This is an old Thunderbird, looks like a '57. The car in Dumdi dumdi was an old Mercedes.
