Grizzly is most definitely my favourite type of DM: Someone who is just as thrilled as the players are when it comes to details and extravagant attacks. Of course, there is a delicate balance between indulging "The Rule of Cool" and keeping the campaign fair, but JWRI isn't the type to take things too seriously in campaigns.

@@nobellprizz2831 no I know, but i know certain things that don't matter ALL that much that the DM latches onto, like I remember I fell in a hole once, and instead of waiting for my party to throw a rope down I was like "oh well I'll just use mold earth to create handholds like a rock wall as I go up" but because that's technically a whole action he didn't want to let me do it. Like there was no plan for keeping me in there, nor any reason he wanted me to be hoisted up by rope, we weren't in combat or anything so there wasn't any reason to keep track of actions really, it was just cause he was stuck on the technicalities for something that would have been cool. Also, this DM was my dad and I was like a teenager when this campaign took place, so I might be a little extra biased (definitely a little extra biased)

Honestly, I was playing a Middle Earth DnD campaign and was some kind of Woodlands (Human) Woodcutter kind of species and walked up to a town full of my own kind of people trying to be an ambassador for my party so they would let us in and rolled a Nat 1 with a -2 to culture so I basically walked up to them and went "Hi, Me wood man like yooouuuu."

I’m so satisfied with myself for somehow creating a Gillian Tidestrider PC before ever discovering Gillian Tidestrider. I was originally inspired by Grog Strongjaw, but it’s beautiful that I’ve also matched Gil’s energy as well. In an early campaign session, my PC baked cookies, got them wet in a lake, and, when realizing my cookies were soggy, proceeded to sit down and attempt to “re-crisp them” by burning the entire bag with my hands. Nothing like a good old non-human himbo.
