Top 5 QoL features for me: 1. Better glam function. The dresser is better than what it used to be, but it’s still not great. 2. Being able to see party member’s average ilvl. This is particularly rough as a healer with an arrogant undergeared tank 3. Required job stone usage after a certain level. There are people at level 90 who refuse to equip it for the “challenge” 4. Crafting using items straight from your retainer. You’ll understand this if you ever become an omnicrafter… 5. Not being able to cast res on a player who already had a res casted on them. It’s rough when you and your cohealer both swift res the same dead guy, especially with randoms, and you both burn 2400 mp

1.Yes 2. Are you saying add ilvl to the party list or to the 'inspect player' option? 'Cause you can see what their weapons and gear are by inspecting them. 3.Yes- After ~level 35 or 40 force job stones. Allow 'Unsynced' runs with classes because those are fun, but then everyone is consenting to that torture. 4. PLEASE 5. There might be a server tick issue with this one, but at least have some way to refund resources or something!

Those are all great suggestions that definitely need to be implemented soon. I'd take your 5 first and then they can work on these. 1. Longer sprint and sprint no longer using up a RDM dual cast. 2. Portraits fixed and being reflective of equipped gear. 3. SMN pet size options in menu and not just through chat prompts 4. All tokens and totems in their own currency tab instead of taking up inventory space. Possibly crafting and gathering items too. 5. An option to only see FC members' name plates.

I'll agree with 3 if it's only applied to synced runs, or there's a party option to disable it because Zalera NN frequently has people doing meme run parties and I would hate to see that ruined for them. Otherwise top tier list.

Chat bubbles ABSOLUTELY should be added as a toggle option. Would definitely help for those situations where party members just don't look at chat and you are trying to say something critical.

What I really want, is Auto Tank stance like auto sneak for gatherers. Also, for class equipment (lv 60, 70, 80, 89) to be stored in the armoire instead of glam dresser

The funniest thing about the Glam issue is that Yoshi-P once explained that if too many people simultaneously used the dresser, it could crash a server loading in so many items. He straight up told us a concrete way to DDOS a server by way of how the game works. The spaghetti code and its technical debt is this game's biggest enemy to progress regardless.

Top 5 for me in no order 1. Unifying the tribal quest rep across all expansions so the same amount is required per rank. (I.e the ARR tribal quests take a lot longer to try and get to max than later expansions) 2. Unify custom deliveries crafting mats to be the same as later expansions. (i.e. 1 mat per 1 crafted piece instead of 6:1 in earlier contacts) 3. Alternate melding loadouts for shared gear particularly caster having different bis stats. 4. additional new game + save slots to allow you to play through the MSQ as well as one or more of the quest series. 5. baits as currencies in the tackle boss instead of physical items you have cluttering up your inventory/retainers.

Additional honorable mention would be alliance wide mitigation for alliance raids that don't stack but can offer protection/regen for other alliances other than your own.

Glam plates binding to the job, not the items. I don't want fisher to look the same as miner. I don't want Dark Knight to look the same as Paladin.

Another insane XP thing in 1.0 alongside the fatigue system, was that, class actions rewarded XP and was the main source of levels. But for some reason healing actions, especially AOE healing actions rewarded disproportionately more XP than normal. After SE realised this, they made a post threatening to ban ppl that abused this method of leveling, who didn't self report themselves to a GM. The problem was that they never defined what was considered abuse, since if you just played a lot and were in parties a lot, you just naturally gained a bunch more levels than everyone else. If you self reported, you got taken to GM jail, and the GM would, seemingly arbitrarily, down level you.

The glamour thing being a resource issue bugs me, because I see how WoW does it, and behind the scenes it actually saves space. Because no one needs to put gear in banks anymore, it doesn't need to save gems, enchantments, durability, it's just a true or false statement for whether the appearance is unlocked or not. It allocates a little extra storage space for every character, because it has to set true or false for every appearance right at the start, but then saves so much more over time.

According to the Eorzea Database website, there are currently 22,622 weapons, tools, armor, and accessories in the game. The glamor dresser stores both item and dye color, so they would probably need at least 2 bytes of data for each item in the glamor catalog, or about 46 Kbytes per player. This number would grow significantly with each expansion. This is a pretty big number, but they only need to transfer all that data when a player opens their glamor chest, so it seems doable. I'm a software engineer, so I did a little more research out of curiosity. According to estimates from players, FFXIV uses about 15-25 MBytes of data per hour for each player. That works out to only 7 KBytes of data per second. When you break it down that way, suddenly adding an additional 46 KBytes in the second after a player opens their glamor chest seems like a much bigger problem. The devs have told us they can't do it, and they've hinted that the issue is data transfer rates, so I believe the problem is that the game servers can handle only so much data transfer at one time, and they're already maxed out. Probably the only way they could increase the data rate is if they reduced the number of players per server significantly.

You're absolutely right now that you say it in that way, seems really simple once implementing it. Might cause issues at launch when everyone it building their archives at once though

An alternative would be to copy from Guild Wars 2. Unlocks similar to WoW, but the unlocks are on an account-wide basis.

1) Treat glamours more like transmogs + add glam catalog 2) chat bubbles 3) allow access to items in other inventory slots- every time I do a glam set I have to close it, open my chocobo inventory up, transfer my dyes over and re-open the glam dresser. 4) just remove repair. It’s an old and archaic system that’s only purpose is to punish players for dying. And when people forget to repair before going into a dungeon, it just makes things even worse for everyone else. There’s no purpose for it.

I just had a moment in my game where I was 1% from winning the last boss fight, only for it to suddenly wipe us, then we had to run through five minutes of empty zigzagging corridors to get back to it. Checkpoints for the shortcut would be grand; maybe if they made opening a chest a checkpoint?

So Im a DPS Main (Bard, Samurai, Machinist but working on Dragoon RN) but considering to learn healer via Sage and such I Do hope for a possible bind for just Ally targeting as a scrolling bind natively, Tab is for you to cycle through enemy targeting but either im blind af or it doesn't exist theres no cycling bind for allies it would be pretty nice if I have to cycle from my tank to my DPS who got targeted for a large burst of damage and fire an AOE cause the other DPS got chunked Im well aware that naturally the F# keys are there for you to cycle but I wish there was a single button for that I do want to clarify that I Don't play on an MMO mouse, I have 2 side buttons and thats it.

I think I saw something about someone making the mouse wheel scroll up to go through your party and scroll wheel down to go through your enemy list

You should consider playing on controller because you can set so that up and down on the D paid cycles through the party list while left and right cycles through enemies.

If anything instead of taking away the second ring slot, they should add a second bracelet slot purely for glam purposes! But for realsies, what I actually want is more glamour plates. With 20 plates currently there is enough for one per combat job if you're including blue mages. But that means no DoH/DoL glamour plates, and no glamour plates for casual wear or silly meme sets. And with Dawntrail soon to be adding three more classes (two regular and one limited), we're about to pass the point where players won't have enough glamour plates for 1 per combat class either! So what I'd want is enough plates so we can have one for every job including the DoH/DoL jobs, and then a few extra for general purpose outfits/meme outfits. So about 40 plates would be a good place to start.

I think they can't focus on these right now due to the graphic update and the new expansion coming. They have to get ready to fix any possible bugs and, if necessary, handle the servers been full (I'm pretty sure THAT will happen anyway so waiting to see 5k players in front of me). Maybe somewhere halfway of Dawntrail expansion they can focus on some QoL again. Maybe.

Hopefully! it's worrying that in the video they mentioned some of these things being brought up 3-5 years ago and still not implemented. However I do really appreciate that they listen to feedback and (eventually) put stuff in.

@@JustRuss Yeah that is reassuring. At least they're doing their research and see if they are able to do any of them. If not now then maybe somewhere down the line. One thing to keep in mind is that corona virus was a big problem during those times and it did a number on them, causing everything to be delayed, including the Endwalker expansion. Even the now upcoming female Hrothgar was initially supposed to come at the launch of Endwalker, but they didn't have enough time and when corona hit, they were unable to focus on it anymore. Hence why it comes so late.

8:13 Back when FF 1.0 was being rebuilt. The loudest community on the forums was the wow community. And things like death penalties were removed from the game. Or anything that resembled FFXI. The game was rebuilt with much of what the wow community wanted.

There use to be a kid in Ishgard who threw snowballs at your character as you walked by. They removed the snowball throw. Guess it was to much for the players. Bully NPC.

The problem with TP is it was a hold-over from late 1.0's combat system. The difference is THAT combat system was built around it, and was actually really fun and engaging, but the much faster paced spammable combat they introduced in ARR wasn't, and both systems were at odds. Personally, I'd much rather go back to 1.2x's system built with TP in mind, where each job had its own unique gameplay loop to build and maintain TP to keep the combat moving. It effectively created a higher skill floor than just roll over your hotkeys. But no, instead we need to keep dumbing things down further and further, and the gameplay suggestions in videos like that one just straight up hurt. AST got super fucked and turned into the least played job in the game overall due to people dumbing it down to where it is right now. What was one of the most interesting jobs they've ever designed (AND a meta job among people who actually play the game and knew what they were doing) got completely complained out of the game. And people keep asking for shit to be even more simplified. You did NOT give the arrow to a MNK. You have that to a MCH or especially a BLM, for fucks sake. You had to *gasp* read the tooltips, and you may want to hold onto your seats for this one, but make decisions as well. Waow.

cloud servers are a thing, no reason to not have a transmog system in FF14 its plenty of space. other than losing retainer subs

But moving the teleport point to somewhere just before the boss room only makes sense if you assume that everybody is dying to the boss. What if you die against the mobs? According to high ranking players, these are more dangerous than the bosses. So you just teleport past them?

moving the teleport point up to the boss only after the boss has been pulled should work. the only way i could see this resulting in skipping mobs is if people purposely ran into boss rooms with mobs still on them, but they could probably place invisible walls in front of boss rooms if anyone in the party is in combat, or something
