newbie in MMORPG FF14 for just 3 weeks, still learning how to play

White mage lv3 is underwhelming because it’s only useful in an emergency. If wmlv3 is whelming to you then you either appropriately respect it or have a skill issue.

For one how can someone expect to stack rupture on 4 targets while also keeping slice and dice up and using envenom And then even if you can keep rupture up on 4 targets wouldn't you be better using fan of knives and the Aoe Bleed at that point

Ff14 range has interrupt , silence, melee and tanks have stun which would be what u call “kick” also casters and range have other rebuffs sleep, heavy slow ect.

Considering the lore, Bahamut has every right to be absolutely PISSED

When I saw the chat tell you to do NPCs first I was like "Oh...oh noooo...noooo that so mean!!!!". Back when I did the vault we didn't have duty support yet, but doing it with Him must hurt even more :( I think this is the first time I've watch this cinematic in 7 years, and I still cried like the first time. Maybe more since I knew it was coming.

as sad as this is, it's sadly required. i feel this and another sacrifice close to home is essential for the WoL to forge through beyond the final walk. we will never forget you Haurche. i dont use a shield in my pally glams, but i carry yours in my inventory always.

Im in the same boat, I finished the vault a week ago. I truly fell in love with his undaunted charisma and belief he had in people, in me and the 2 remaining scions...At our lowest, he was there to cheer us on.

a similar player gave me a hot chocolate...aaand i lost an inventory slot that day. guy was actually named "Lord Haurchefant" ...so naturally the hot chocolate says it was made by Lord Haurchefant too....

With all this in mind... can you imagine how it felt for the veterans when they were going back and adding Duty Support to these dungeons, and we realized who was going to be Tanking The Vault?

Back in 'ye olde days', the German client, which my GF an I are playing, had a MASSIVE spoiler for the aftermath of the Vault upon the release of Heavensward. My GF always likes to check for new achievements to see what rewards she wants to go after first. The thing is, the achievement for completing this part of the story, gave a title as reward. And it shows what the title is in the achievement window. The German title, literally translated, used to be "in memory of Haurchefant", which - again, in German - is something you would ONLY use if the person is dead (the title has since been changed after people complained about it). My GF found that title in the achievements at the very first day of early access for Heavensward. Knowing how much I LOVED Haurchefant, she kept quiet about it for the entirety of our playthrough up to the Vault. And when the cutscene after the Vault got to That Point™, she just burst out "FINALLY!", while I started sobbing xD

Legit that first scene kills me EVERY TIME. My heart, my poor heart. The Ysayle scene is part two of Ishikawa getting pissed at her characters being killed and going on to create the best expansion. Brace yourself... and go level DRK.

Fun fact: Ishgardians HATE the Au Ra because they thought they were dragon kin from Dravania, so the fact that Hauchefant chose to save you goes to show he really was the best of us

Russ I hate to be that guy, but its spelled Azys Lla lol. This was definitely the best overworld zone intro we saw up to this point, and it will be the best you see for a while. It certainly was far from expected to see another significant ally die so soon after Haurchefant's death, but it had a build up of looming dread knowing this couldn't go well rather than the absolute shock that came after The Vault.

This is the point for a lot of people. It is the moment you know if you're sticking with FFXIV for the long run. Death in a lot of RPGs can feel cheap or sometimes even humorous but Haurchefant being taken out like this is when you realize the gravity of the tone shift since the end of ARR. Also a note about healing : this goes into the direction that healing only speeds up your natural healing process; it doesn't grow back limbs, doesn't undo decapitation, doesn't undo a large, gaping wound in your abdomen. When you take HP damage, it is usually in the form of fatigue, weariness and light wounds that doesn't disable you but when you hit 0, it is because you've taken a hit that essentially took you out of the fight. Raise-spells simply kickstart you back on your feet but it doesn't bring back the dead, hence why you get Weakened or the Near Death debuff. So that's why Haurchefant can't be healed : that hole in his body isn't going anywhere and there's no way natural healing would eventually allows him to recover, hence why it cannot be mended. Healing magic cannot do what your body couldn't eventually recover from; it would require a much higher level of magic or power to even be able to create something like that. I know it is a bit ironic that SCH and SMN have the Raise equivalent called "Ressurection" but it comes down to the same thing regardless : a severe enough wound will kill you. The Warrior of Light is simply incredibly tough for reasons that will become clear much later and they're an incredibly skilled individual at not taking those life-threatening hits. Nevermind that it is alluded that anytime you 'wipe' (and I think that was mentioned by YoshiP or a dev at one point), you didn't actually die but experienced a possible outcome of the fight through the Echo and learned from it. So really, the canon outcome is the one where you win or at least (and this is important) *where YOU don't die* .

I remember playing the vault and being very moved afterwards. I even put the title “House Fortemps Knight” on my character. I'll always remember when, in Crytarium, I met a Haurchefant cosplayer who offered me a hot chocolate, back in the days of Shadowbringer, which encouraged me to keep going. Glad you enjoyed the dungeon.

They all showed up because of the excellent story and this sections effects on people. Or they're trying to forget Dawntrail exists. Either or.
