For the death about the person jumping off Brooklyn Bridge, I believe he was a daredevil, he was hired by the government to do jumps at first to make people trust the safety nets. As he did more and more performances, he got popular. And when the contract with the government ended, he still wanted to do jumps. The government tried to stop his jumps but his Brooklyn Bridge jump was scheduled in advance and the police got tricked by a false carriage. He landed head first because he messed up his jump.
