Lol I know it’s true !!!!! I’ve heard the same thing ....she just does them perfectly with restraint..... And better than anyone else. An example… Christina Aguilera is really really good at runs ...but it’s too much sometimes. And then technically.. if you listen to how Celine runs ...vs. Christina, she is far superior in her articulation and clarity. AND.....English is not even her first language BTW!!!!

Celine must be so disciplined and diligent about keeping her voice healthy. Her technique has changed over the years for the better. Can't think of anyone else from that era that is in better shape vocally.
@natlisan7 жыл бұрын
It was the scare of her completely loosing her voice during a concert in 1991 that has made her that disciplined. She was over working and was told that she would need surgery to fix nodes on her vocal cords & it would've destroyed her voice. Thank god she got a second opinion and was told that her cords were severely swollen. She was told not to speak a word for 3 weeks. they taught how to sneeze, cough & laugh again.

She absolutely has more ease now than she did in her prime. She tended to use her chest almost exclusively for all of her belts back then. Now she mixes almost every thing she belts which has given her more range than she ever had in her prime when it came to belts. She only ever belted up to a G#5 in her prime and it was always in runs so never sustained. Now she sustains G#5 (and higher) belts because she's mixing.

Even her rasping is controlled, she always uses it for Blues and Rock songs, she gives what the style demands. I once said that where others scream Céline still sings cause she has the greater lungs capacity that gives her the edge, even when she sings softly or with her head voice she still uses a great volume of air, that's the secret of the clarity you mention so often ;)

I agree with you. Celine seems to have a wider range now cause she’s more experienced and more confident than she was back in her prime. She didn’t always hit the last note of “The power of love” even if she could do it, there are recordings that prove it. Also, her worst period was around 2007 and the “Taking chances” album. I’ve always blamed it on that strenuous residency in Vegas. What I’ve always admired about her is that she doesn’t really have a head voice, it’s all about the chest and yet she manages to hit those cristal clear notes like in “Tous les blues sont écrits pour moi” She’s just fantastic, my favorite vocalist ever.
@yossibarzilai38206 жыл бұрын
Rosannasfriend 98% of what Celine sings is chest. She doesn’t use her head voice as often as Mariah or Whitney does/ did. She’s a natural belter. Powerful high belted notes and if you ask me, I prefer that. I could bring up a thousand times she’s used her head voice ... Refuse to dance is another example but out of the three, she’s the one that uses her head voice the least.
