Brilliant!! Besides the undecorated movement, the only questionable move was to call it a dress watch when obviously it’s a great daily casual/ pilot piece - would’ve eliminated 3/4 of negative critiques. Personally, I’m all in on this one!

I've been looking to add a dressy hand-winder to my collection, and this is an interesting one. The SW215 is a real draw for me, and I think it's a really attractive watch with excellent legibility (which is important to me). As for having unusually strong lume for a dress watch, I see it as another plus. I just wish it was 40mm instead of 39mm, but if I had the chance to try it on I might decide I don't need that extra millimeter for my ~7.75" wrist. Thanks for a really good look at this new beauty from Zelos! 👍

@Bob_Smith19 Жыл бұрын
Own the steel blue version and I don’t understand why people consider it a dress watch. There are a lot of elements that make it “not” a dress watch. I would not wear it at formal occasions. But I do wear it often and find it to be a sold watch, once you put a better strap on it.

I think the shape of the hands and numeral font kind of betray the dress watch idea. It looks to me more akin to a field watch -- something like a futuristic Hamilton Khaki Field. The watch seems like an interesting option in its own right, but I just don't see dress watch qualities in the watch aside from being manually wound and thin.

That much lume is problematic for a dress watch imo. It's... a weird mix. Great looking, but not sure about where you'd use it
@Nefville2 жыл бұрын
Dave, I can't tell but if you can please let me know, it appears to be like my Nova and the case is sharp between the lugs, scratching/ chewing up the strap over time. Is this watch having that issue? It looks like it might, my Nova came with a bracelet so I can only put it on that, it eats straps in seconds. I may buy this one but I would need to know if that is going to be a problem first. Thanks.
@JusttheWatch2 жыл бұрын

Maybe the salmon dial, carbon & bronze and aventurine models could pass more as a dress watch. The other models including this one seem more like a daily wearer to me although they can be versatile. Its that finishing on the movement which kills the deal for me. And I think that perhaps Tritium would be better on this watch. If you are going to the opera, then you don’t want that kind of lume showing. It’s distracting. I think Zelos would have been better designing either a proper dress watch, or another Pilot’s watch.
