Today I finished the installation on a Honda VFR1200X. The only big obstacle was the necessary mirror adapter with M10x1.5 inside and M10x1.25 outside which simply nobody offers from the shelf. I had to purchase a custom-built one, but now everything is working and looking perfect.

Great and very helpful video. Great product. But I couldn't find any delivery conditions or delivery costs for delivery to Austria on Weiser's homepage. So I bought directly from Innovv and ordered the mirrors from BMW. I removed all the trim parts. Made a bracket under the top case carrier. The sensor is now exactly in the middle above the rear light. I completely covered the cables with a flexible hose and routed them on the left and right sides under the tank near the original wiring harness to the mirrors. 1 day of work. Great result.

I noticed a couple of comments made that frustrate me. The title and Thumb Nail makes it quite obvious what its about, but they watch it and then say something really stupid. Why do they waste their time watching something they just want to slag off when it in the title? Ive got these mirrors on my 1300 and they are brilliant. I'm no Owl with a 180 degree neck turn as some one commenting seems to have, so for me they really help and assist my riding safety. Another said buy a $6 tiny mirror. If he can only afford $6 why watch this? It's obvious you put a lot of time and effort into making these videos and I enjoy watching them. Keep up the great content Carl! 👏🏻

I think the BSD on the new R1300GS is simply brilliant, and I was keen to try to help find a way so those of us that have older generation BMW bikes can also enjoy what new R1300GS has. That´s a superb bit of work from all of you! Beautifully integrated. I have the watch system and find I like to have the display in the eye line. It´s the best update that I´ve fitted and especially useful on German Autobahns where cars have a tendency to sneak up right behind you. However I´m not a fan of the BMW oem mirrors finding that, for me, the depth of vision is not as good as that given by my large round mirrors sourced from Japan. Großartiges und sehr hilfreiches Video. Tolles Produkt. Aber auf der Homepage von Weiser konnte ich keine Lieferbedingungen und Lieferkosten für die Lieferung nach Österreich finden. So habe ich direkt bei Innovv gekauft und die Spiegel bei BMW bestellt. Ich habe alle Verkleidungsteile abgebaut. Eine Halterung unter dem Topcaseträger angefertigt. Der Sensor ist jetzt genau mittig über den Rücklicht. Die Kabel habe ich komplett mit einem flexiblen Schlauch umhüllt und links und rechts seitlich unter dem Tank in der Nähe des originalen Kabelbaumes bis zu den Spiegeln verlegt. 1 Tag Arbeit. Tolles Ergebnis.

Well I fitted my third eye mirror system onto my tiger 800 for just over £200 used cable ties and neatly cabled up to the mirrors it looks very tidy.

The only thing I unfortunately couldn't mount is the scabbard to cover the wires that go to the mirrors. Hi Simone, the system connects directly to the motorbike. It uses 12v @ 350mA , which is a very small amount of power. It needs to be connected via a switched feed called a ACC feed. Most motorbikes have these as standard. Carl 🙋🏻‍♂️

The power that runs the Innovv system needs to come from a switched 12v supply. In simple terms a 12v feed that only becomes live when the ignition is turned on. Take the make and model of your motorbike and search on the internet for ( switched 12v point) or ( 12v ACC Connection Point) Also you can search for your model on your local motorbike forums. Hi Dave, you would need to order the full kit from the Weiser-Technik website (see link in the video description) in this kit you will receive everything you need to install the Innovv third eye with and including the oem mirrors. It’s important to understand that there are 3 versions of the Innovv third eye, only one will work with the BMW mirrors. This is because the other two Innovv systems use a different voltage and current . Kind regards Carl

Hi Derek, good afternoon, yes the link in the video description takes you to the full installation kit page which includes the OEM mirrors etc. This is all you need for the installation, inside the INNOVV box is also an installation kit which you use for mounting the Radar on the rear of your 22-TE. How are these in direct sunlight? Are they noticeable? I've seen reviews of the 3rd eye systems and they can be difficult to see on sunny days.

Hi, in bright sunshine they work just fine. If you are unsure just visit your local bmw dealership and take a new R1300GS out for a test ride to assess the LED light output. For me they work brilliantly. Hope that helps Carl

Hi Carl, Am I right in thinking both triangles should flash on when the bikes ignition is turned on? Does the OEM mirrors warning triangles flash as per the Innov kits sequence? As there's nothing in the instructions as to what the BMW mirrors are supposed to do when the ignition is turned on, in fact there's absolutely nothing in reference to fitting the kit with BMW mirrors!

Hi , I have no idea what should happen with the official BMW system, you could ask your dealership, maybe they will know, maybe not. From my time with 3 different R1300GS models I don't recall any self test or flashing at start-up. The new 2025 year model motorbikes have a new improved system which includes the RECW feature, perhaps it will be a different to the 24 year models. With the INNOVV system its designed to perform a self test at start up and yes both mirrors flash three times along with a single beep. Best Wishes Carl

@@justthewayitis I am referring to the Innov self test system, the kit in this installation video is what I fitted to my 23 GSA. The kit I've just installed, only one (right) mirror flashes, just once and there's a beep. I've checked all the connectors are fully home, I've swapped over the leads (right to left) and the problem moves so it's one side and not the mirror. I'm aware Weisertechnik has spoken to you about my issue. The fact it's not doing a full self test points to there being a problem with the control module, it could be the lead, but the other side would still do a self test, I assume. The leads as you know come pre wired all you do is fit the wire sleeve and heat shrink. That being the case, there's no way to test for continuity as the other end is hard wired into the control unit, yes I could open it but I shouldn't have to. This again suggests there's a fault within the control module. I'm awaiting a replacement kit which hopefully will be fault free, lets hope there's not a batch manufacturing fault and mines a one off! I'll keep you posted.

Ah, now I understand your question 👍, apologies. So yes if the fault moves to the opposite side when you switch over the cables it's more than likely the central module that has a fault. I've not heard of this before but of course these things can happen. I'm sure Weiser will get a replacement sent ASAP. Hopefully you won't have to wait to long. The wait will be worth it 👍, I'm going to find a way to fit this to my wife's Ktm. She can see the system working over my shoulder when she is a passenger and has commented several times... Hi Mike, I don’t have an R/S to check but I think the mirrors are different, I remember they mount on the fairing and are a different mounting. So no I don’t think they will fit. The mirrors that come in the kit are for bmw bikes that have handlebar mounted mirrors. Carl

Also when the R1300RS is released, it’s likely that it will have BSD warning triangles in the mirrors, ( presumably part of a Radar assist pack ) so then it will ( I think ) be possible to use those mirrors with the kit. Once it’s released I can ask Weiser-Technik to confirm this. Carl

Hi, i have not found anything to restrict me from installing this kit here in Europe. Mirrors on a motorcycle are not on the TÜV "restricted" list of parts that are controlled that need a KBA number. PLUS as they are OEM BMW mirrors they obviously pass any necessary approval tests. I hope that helps, Carl

The Blindspot monitoring warning on the mirrors is huge. This is the first motorcycle I’ve had that’s ever had them. It makes it much safer when you’re riding with a group especially when you’re riding side-by-side or somebody’s coming up to pass you.
