HI Derryk and Sue, We also put our awning away every night or if away from camp, have seen too much damage to other people's awnings for the 3 or 5 min it takes. We also have the pop up pit, we have had ours for 5 or 6 years and purchased it direct from the US as bcf did not sell them then and ours came with the cooking grill attachment which is great. Love that you can push coals under the grill and still have a roaring fire to keep warm at the other end. Keep up the good work guys.

Thank you again for another interesting episode. My husband and I chuckle to ourselves, as we have done so many similar things 😊 We live in the remote Kimberley & we started our full time van living in March 2022, did our first trip for a couple of months, then back to work (still living in our van) we, like yourselves have gotten rid of so many things like tables, chairs, appliances, kitchenware etc. Watching your episode we kept looking at each other laughing 😂. We head off to SA in early October for 4 months, this is due to watching all your content, we are so excited, thank you for showing us what’s out there. We hope you enjoy WA and look forward to when you get to travel in our backyard in the East Kimberley 😊

I was interested in those bowls Sue. Because I was thinking the ones advertised in the side panel here that all pack down flat would be a good set to own and there are several sets that offer a variety of sizes. They are a storage container really, but I think could be made to serve several purposes from use as a bowl to setting something in the fridge to use as a container. I would also use the big one for rinsing the washing up. I do a funny wash-up where I put a bit of hot water in some individual containers along with a drop of detergent then wash each individually and tip the washup water into the next thing being washed. So the container would not get detergent in it but I would rinse in it. I am also planning to not have any stove in my van even though I am a chef. Currently, I cook on a single gas burner and have done so for 17yrs. I also have a small benchtop oven. Between them, I can cook for 6 easily. So, since I have decided to do away with gas, I will just have a single portable induction cooker along with a benchtop oven with a grill element in it too. That way I get the extra cupboards down low for stuff I prefer to have. In this house, I have a massive chef's gas stove that's rarely been used. Used twice in fact! I really wanted one until I had it! I will have a ziggy or whatever outside and the induction and the benchtop oven inside and the induction can go outside as well. Powering them will not be an issue. I have a contract on my property. Despite everything, it seems I am selling this place and moving to the next phase of my life. So far I am not as happy about it as I imagined. There are other big issues to solve yet too. But your video tonight was well worth viewing as it is good to see how others get through their day and what they find they can easily do without. A lengthy hot shower every night will be my biggest issue. Cheers and thanks to both of you. 😊
@suelandolt6840
@suelandolt6840 Жыл бұрын
Wow a Chef! Well you are welcome over anytime 😂 yes the cooking but is really interesting. Alot of companies are moving to full electric and only a 2 plate induction inside. It is definitely doable and the cupboards and bench space are handy! Sounds like an exciting and nerve wracking time for you. Change always stresses me out or more the lead up to it. Once it I underway I just roll with it. It's the unknown then once it arrives I kind of think we'll it is what it is! New phases are exciting. Good luck with everything, I am sure it will all fall into place ! Yes you will struggle with a long hot shower but it makes you enjoy them more when you ha e one 😉 I really miss a bath tub and often scroll through air bnbs with bath tubs in hope!!!😂

Great video. Lots of good hints. I bet Derik doesn't have a lure collection like me. If you would like a few freebees let me know. I'm a rep for a few tackle companies. Just need a forwarding address to send them to.

We use a little flip lid bin in the kitchen and when full transfer it to our dirty gear bag which hangs over our spare wheel. This way the rubbish is not accessible to animals to rummage through so easily.
