Notice: Unfortunately, the recent Version 1.3.3 update has patched the floating base trick, and none of the any methods work anymore. Don’t worry, though, stay tuned by subscribing to catch the latest tricks when we found one. Floating bases are still allowed, as long as you’re not using cheats or modifying the game client. They are generally considered fine and are not bannable. According to the latest statement from the developers, floating bases are acceptable, especially in PvE Servers.

@@nettizentruth2327 Indeed, you must start from scratch each time you want to create a floating base, as the most important method requires the previously placed foundation to be not shown at the first time, in order for the base to float.

This issue might go unnoticed if no one reports it. Honestly, I support floating houses, at least when you're driving, you won't crash or get stuck just because the house hasn't loaded and is invisible. 🤣

I tried building the spaceship you made using this method, and I was always in the build mode. however when I try to press Z it shows the foundation already. I think there is a timer before your base getting snapshot but I'm not entirely sure. I'll try to attempt again hopefully when I can do I faster and pray it doesn't show the foundation when I press Z UPDATE: for anyone trying this method, even in build mode, you need to press Z within THREE MINUTES before the server snapshot your base! so don't build over complicated foundation, finish up your foundation fast before the server snapshot and you will be able to make your base float. good luck!

Found a better way to do this. Build the foundation you want , take your time. When you're happy... create a building blueprint of it. Exit building mode so server can snapshot it. Destroy everything on the ground now. Wait until the 10min time lr to move territory is up . Go into blueprint and BUILD your foundation. As fast as you can, click on every piece to build following that blueprint. Quickly move territory terminal to center then hit Z ..all while staying in build mode. You will be able to move and raise above ground. All you will see is the terminal raising, like in this video. I just did it 2 different times. First according to video, but i made mistakes in building foundation. Then i had the idea to blueprint, now i have exactly what i want.

Honestly, i dont even care about defenses from the floating house, ranged mobs could easily circumvent any issues relating to floating houses, I just think they look awesome and are great ideas if you can manage to build one.

I managed to make the base fly but I cant make the roof part snapping in as you show 05:08, it doesnt allow me to put a roof against the "below side of a fundament" could you maybe explain the trick?

It's perfectly fine if they live in a floating base. If you observe any deviant that is walking, you'll notice that if their path is blocked or there's an obstacle in their way, they'll simply teleport to their intended destination and continue storing and gathering materials.

this is insanely hard to do, currently trying this multiple ways and the building just wont appear, it wont allow me to build and then scale it into the air, no matter what i do, currently playing on Way of winter PVE server, and it just wont allow me to use ALT+Scroll to put it in the air. keeeps saying no foundation on the ground, or just stays red and wont let me place. ive also had an issue, where it only shows 1 foundation, even though i have 10+ foundations.

Having trouble building this base. After building the foundation and pressing Z to move territory, the foundation is still visible unlike in the video and I cannot move it.

Don't exit the building mode after placing a foundation yet. Test it out to see if it works for you. Build any foundation, then press Z immediately, and check if the foundation becomes visible right away. Experiment with it and see how it goes.

You need to build your foundation within 3 minutes; otherwise, it will be saved on the server, making it visible to others.

Pressing B (for build mode) and pressing Z (relocate your base), you keep whatever you had in your base and design.

No, you can't relocate your territory while having an existing floating base. If you want a floating base elsewhere, you'll need to start fresh and rebuild it from scratch.

Yes, some people don't do this just to make purification easier, they do it to make their house unique and stand out compared to regular house designs.

Delete EVERYTHING! let all your stuff go into territory vault. The only thing in your territory should be the terminal. Exit out to normal. When you're ready, every build mode. Build your foundation as fast as you can in the shape you want. Stay in build mode, move your terminal to the center foundation. STAY IN BUILD MODE..... Hit Z. then move your territory where you want it to hover, hold ALT and scroll up A LOT until you see only your terminal. If you did it to slow , you will see foundations. I did it 3x until i only saw the floating terminal way above ground. Hit build and my base is now floating over a river

Just avoid placing your floating base on overly complex terrain or like in the middle of the water, as it won't work in those conditions. Make sure to leave enough ground space for deviants to spawn, which is necessary for purification to function.

Once you create the foundation, it will be saved when you exit building mode. Don't leave building mode immediately after placing the foundation. Instead, press Z right away then raise the whole territory to float your base.

They won't get banned immediately after building a floating base and doing purifications unless it receives a large number of reports that prompt the officials to investigate. In fact, for the PvE servers, while the location of the base wont affect much of the gameplay, it is allowed. I built and uploaded the first floating base two months ago and haven't encountered any issues since.

Reports or not, if it does not affect the gameplay too drastically it is not consider illegal to do. So if you do it on pvp servers, get reported multiple times you can face a ban. If you do it on pve servers, get multiple reports, u won't face anything as it does not effect your gain/ is not blocking anything for others as well PERIOD.

We make floating base because its cool, not because of territory purification. That thing is too easy, that giving wall on each side is enough to clear 40 lv3 cortex is enough for defense

@@CallMeTessa I don't have a floating base, but that's a weak argument. Wood defends your purifier in a tier 3. Purifications are not hard at all. This is more aesthetic, not a huge bonus. The only way you are taking damage in a purification is if you fell asleep and have zero turrets.
