its not a blooper, but this bird isn't the right one. There are plovers that look exactly like this that have very visible spurs on their wings, but this one isn't that sub-species

Despite not technically being a plover (different subfamily), this specific species (Vanellus miles) is called both a masked lapwing and masked plover or spur-winged plover. They (subfamily Vanellinae) are very closely related to plovers (subfamily charadriinae), so the distinction is mostly a pedantic one.
