For over a hundred years dinosaurs have inspired and thrilled audiences, commanding blockbuster status in museums and at the box office. But among them towers a king-a tyrant lizard king. With leaps in CGI wizardry and revolutions in tyrannosaur paleontology over the past twenty-five years, the time has come to revisit rex in the world’s prestigious museum cinemas.
Working with top tyrannosaur scientists, a coalition of natural history institutions, and pioneering paleo and visual effects artists, GSF’s original giant screen production on this iconic dinosaur-and its carnivorous Cretaceous cousins-aims to be the most dazzling and accurate T. rex documentary ever made.
With hat tips to famous specimens, landmark discoveries, and wild cinematic depictions over the last century, the film will explore the interplay between speculation and evidence, and reveal how the process of science refreshes and reimagines our understanding of this legendary dinosaur.

The animation of the emontosaurus looks exactly the same thing as the prehistoric planet and it’s weird that this Edmontosaurus is still alive

I thought so too. Plus, they also look a little like the Edmontosaurus from Walking with Dinosaurs. No, No, No. not the 1999 Documentary. “The 2025 version has yet to be known about them.” I’m talking about the ones from the feature length 2013 Film by 20th Century Fox. Before 20th Century Fox became part of the Disney family.

The accuracy is acceptable, at least. Not great. They still look weirdly disproportionate, despite clearly being based on Prehistoric Planet's animals. Even the markings are similar. These just look worse.

I like that people are comparing this to prehistoric planet, a show with a big budget mind you. Setting a standard is great but hating just because the animation/graphics is bad is something else. Not every show can be a godzilla -1 wherein a small budget can produce an oscar winning piece.

It can go either way, but as nature tends to go, Triceratops has a clear advantage. It fights for its imminent survival, not for food, so it'll go all out, whereas the T-Rex cannot risk injuring itself too much. T-Rex has to bite towards a literal set of bone hard spears in order to attack, meaning it's constantly at danger of going blind or injuring its face in another way if it's not careful. And if Triceratops lived in herds then it would not even be worth the effort to try and attack them unless it comes across a lonely Triceratops on happenstance. Overall, T-Rex puts itself at a lot of risk when attacking a Triceratops and would most likely disengage when it sees that it's not worth it.
