Can't really say that tbh. If Juz had gotten the win on level 1 then final level would just be a 10 second difference and if Carl hadn't waited at the first goal post those 10 seconds wouldn't really have mattered. But honestly, who cares? I never considered this a race in the first place. I considered it a showcase. A showcase of a fairly unknown part of Mario Maker 2 on the big stage. And they did an amazing job with that :D So for me the "win" was the viewers as well as both players having the time of their lives and that is all that matters ^^
