You said at 1:41 that the projector must be off before the USB drive is plugged in. But the JVC procedure documentation says nothing about this. Which is it? On or off before USB insertion?

Off. Turn it off. This is done to eliminate any chance of sparking.

Im still getting usb drive cannot be recognized. By the way according to the website, the new version is V2.0.

Yes, hence the thumbnail is titled fw 2.0. What kind of USB key you use? I use 8 gb USB key formatted in FAT32.

@@cdommel Some USB drives will just not be recognized at all. I tried different ones and found one that worked. (Kingston 32GB)

Yes, I received it a couple of weeks earlier to do evaluation. The fw will be released tomorrow, not today.

@@DavidSusiloUnscripted Thanks. What was your impression of mode 3? The info out there is that it basically does FFTB but otherwise no dimming expect in very very dark scenes with no highlights. It seems this is what most people wanted. I'll have to see for myself but I think some dimming is still good in some scenes to keep black floor low like in space scenes but I guess you can't have it both ways.

I contacted JVC a few weeks ago and my problem was I was using a MAC computer and they said use a PC. Worked like a charm but before using a PC I had purchased 2 different USB drives.

As long as you format the USB drive as FAT32 as mentioned in the video, it doesn’t matter whether you use Mac or Win.
