I bought the Happrun about a year ago and I'm still enjoying it. The fan is a little loud but not bad once you have any audio going. There are a few bright spots that showed up not too long after buying it. They are pretty small and only noticable in dark or black scenes. As long as they dont get any worse, I'm happy.

The greatest service this channel provides is reviewing cheap projectors from generic brands no one outside China has heard of. There is a massive variance in quality and deviation from claimed specs among the cheap projectors. In contrast, name brand projectors more closely adhere to their claimed specs and are more similar to their competitors making reviews slightly less valuable . So many Amazon reviews are fake. I would not buy a cheap projectors without watching your review first.

impressive comparison - last time I got cheap projectors, the no-name ones bottomed out at $100-$150. The other thing they had in common: if you ran them 24x7 (art projects, office status displays off of raspis, that sort of thing) then they'd *catch fire* in about a year of operation. Never the LEDs, those were fine, though the LCDs were usually a little discolored - usually some capacitor on the mainboard would burst and burn. (I don't expect any reasonable testing regimen to catch this - but I *would* be wary of operating this class of devices unattended, or in a bedroom where you might fall asleep and leave it on...)

I just bought the XMing Episode One for €200 from Amazon, and it's excellent. 1080p, Google Play, a throw of about 100inches is optimal, and it's small, light and pretty quiet. The speakers are certainly functional, but better off with Bluetooth audio, for which it supports Dolby Atmos. The color range and accuracy is excellent. You won't get the blackest of black but still very good. It's definitely a darker room projector but here in Spain, window shutters are the norm for that complete blackout experience. I would have kicked myself if I had bought a €1000 projector knowing this was about.

I went through a stage of buying sub £200 amazon projectors, i experienced a whole plethora of issues ranging from poor focus, low luminosity and lint build up on the lcd panel and discovered that the best option for a cheap projector was something like a old epson school/office short throw project from ebay. You can get them with replaced lamps for very cheap. Yes they are usually only 720p but they are so much better in image quality.

I bought a HY320 last year around this time and it was so amazing. Downloaded all streaming apps I use on the regular on it and it was simply great. Even though the fan was loud I couldn't care because I connected a BT speaker to it anyways. Around may it started showing a grey brown circled stain in the middle which started at the size of a coin and is now like 60 procent of the screen... Still couldn't care because I thoroughly enjoyed the device in my bedroom until it got a major software update this summer that literally deleted all apps installed and put a software on it that didn't allow me to download those apps again. Only netflix and youtube but even those apps run like a mess since then. Now I barely use it and I can confirm that it is a e-waste product. If the update never released I would have still used it despite the big circled stain. I would happily buy another projector but at a higher price that guarantees better quality.

I never considered if a projector could keep up with my gaming. I guess I got lucky with the one I got. I got a PS4 for a really good price on a boxing day sale, but I did not have a TV. The TVs I could find were expensive, and I do not have enough room for one either. Remembered there was a projector on sale at a big brand pharmacy, called the pharmacy and they still had one left, rushed over, and it was not the one I originally planned to buy, but I bought it anyway. It is the RCA 2 in 1 Bluetooth karaoke and 480p Home Theater. For some reason I could not find it on the RCA website. Sometimes if I look hard enough I can see the pixels, but for the price I got it the projector is awesome, the picture is bigger than any tv I could afford, and it works with my gaming. I listen with my headphones connected to my PS4 controller, so I can not say how good the sound is. Honestly, I think as long as I live in a dark apartment there is no reason to get a tv. Projectors are awesome.

Any references from other brands on any C26 named projectors? While browsing for the Groview JQ818C - that by the way, has increased in price to almost $180 USD by the way -, I found that they sell a model called C26 that offers additional features like "electric focus and electric keystone correction", as per the manufacturer. It also states 500 ANSI lumens, and when inquired about differences with JQ818C , the seller stated that "The differences in picture quality and brightness are very minimal." Today it is listed at $111 USD with 50% discount...
