JVC KD A3 Stereo Cassette Deck

Just picked up one of these the other day and can't wait to check it out this weekend. I too love the color and design on those VU Meters, they used the same one's on my fave JVC MI-5000 mixer. Hilarious how your kid put you on the spot and kept you on the ball the whole vid, lol... Great channel man

If it works I think you will like it - a lot of quality went into those late 70s-early 80s cassette decks that was lost when everything turned to plastic... Thanks for the comments!

I bought a JVC KD-A3 when they came out. It made fantastic sounding tapes! It made better sounding tapes than some of the considerably more expensive decks that friends of mine owned. Certainly not in the class of a high-end Nakamichi from the same era, but for what it cost, it was certainly one of the great audio gear bargains of its time. Even though cassette tape is no longer relevant (my opinion), I kind of wish I still had it.

Hahaha , there seems to be a youngster who's also quite interested , That's great .very nice video :-) thumbs up . All these JVC decks from 1977 till 1982 are very beautiful and very good .. This one only lacks a bias adjust on the front , otherwise it would have been just perfect .. :-)

Usually there is an adjustment screw in the back of the motor. A good web site for service manuals is hifiengine.com. If they do not have a manual for a specific cassette deck, perhaps a manual for a similar model from the same year. Thank you for watching the video!
