Why not use a Strat to play Hendrix songs???

Moaning at Midnight is off the legendary "Moanin in the Moonlight" Howlin Wolf record recorded in 1951. Hendrix was obsessed with Muddy and the Wolf!

@@The9thChord Yeah man, and Jimi is well known for playing a Stratocaster, so why not use one on the song???

@voyxu143 Refer to my aforementioned comment please. It's not a Hendrix song. Hendrix had his version. This is JW Jones's version.

@@The9thChord JW plays a bunch of Hendrix licks/tributes in the song that have nothing to do with Howlin' Wolf.

@@voyxu143 I get where you're coming from, but arguably, why play any tribute or reference to anyone ever without their exact setup? Do you have to play an alto sax to play Charlie Parker lines? Do you have to pull out your Hammond to play a Jimmy Smith line? Vocab is vocab, tone is a separate concern and to me, totally an artistic choice that doesn't detract from the vocabulary being used.
