Sounds like the mother was having a manic episode. They do get strong. My sister had that happen to her and thought the new system was here. A lot of things led up to that day but her religious beliefs did have a play on her psyche. It's sad and does happen to people even without religious influence but truthfully when you have a religion that induces the fear of armageddon in people..., that fear is like a dangerous weapon to that persons life and others. I'd seen it in so many Wittnesses when I was a member.
