Can confirm, turbo noises make you put your foot down more than necessary.

I pull the truck in, drain the oil. Then change turbo, finish oil change and I prime turbo with a squeeze bottle full of fresh oil. I fill the turbo about half a quart as it runs back down and down the full tube also. Probably over kill but that way you get a good oil change

Completely different application here but I use to use mobile delvac 15w-40 in my 4.0L cherokee cause it helped quiet the valve train noise. Decided to try Valvoline premium blue 15w-40 one time and it made a huge difference in quieting it down.

same, ive used diesel delvac in gearboxes , diffs. And gas engines(NOT winter though). Its a great lube and like $20 for 5 gallons at Farm and fleet. But latelly just using Quaker state Synthetics, so cheap, 25$ a gallon .

Whistle comes from the turbine wheel not the compressor wheel. 10 blades are loud I know I have an 03 6.0 it's really loud and annoying can't hear the turbo after 15 lbs of boost. Ready to get 13 blade stage 1 from KC Turbos

I just got my L5P back I had it deleted and tuned for off road use only. I have 5 in from down pipe back and s&b cold air intake and I really thought it would be louder and whistle louder. Could this be in my tune or do I need to do a high flo down pipe for more sound? Thanks

It’s because of the doc on the back of the turbo. The big can between downpipe and turbo. With that still on it’ll still sound almost stock. You need to remove that and get the correct downpipe

C’mon Donnie, why no Wcfab intake horn? Plus, get a fumoto drain valve, much nicer oil changes. I also went with black market performance, cat oil filter conversion. And it’s a good thing it didn’t fire up right away, should pull relay so it won’t fire, to get oil in turbo first. Correction, mddp oil filter kit, bmp fuel filter kit

I have the old style and according to motor ops. They’ve had a bunch of trucks coming in with mouthpiece issues. My l5p seems like it’s getting choked when at full throttle

Definitely but the hotshot oil I’m using can be ran up to 3 times longer than manufacturers specifications. I still would recommend changing every 5k miles but I’m testing it out for oil analysis

Neighbor Derptactular kid, turbskied his truck into a screeching howling 80Mph demon of soot and flames. ONE week later! ONE WEEK!!! On our dead end street...We now have "slow children playing signs" A speed bump, and a "Photo radar" trailer parked in weeds at end of road. Thanks dude!! Now we cant practice super moto, and kids cant go-kart minibike in the street anymore! Neighbor suggested adding 5 gallons of waste oil to his diesel tank. I personally think 5 gallons of 110 octain gas and a gallon of tolulene is a better idea. Lets see If we can get the EGR to 2200F for you there buddy.
