I have the utmost respect for pilots who are able to get their jet aircraft into LGA. That's one of the trickiest, hardest airports to get into, leaving very little room or margin for error. And that's in good weather conditions. I lived in NY during my teen years, and I experienced this as a passenger many times. What the hell were the developers and city officials thinking when they built those humungous, Godzilla-sized buildings right under the flight path into Runway 31???? JEEZ!!! you're only at 500 feet when you're going over those things!!

Man, that was right on the 1000 footers. Great job.

Great Video! Not only do we get a pilot's perspective of LaGuardia's short runways, but also the tight spacing as another jet is visible having just taken off on the same runway seconds before.
@waterlife.19053 жыл бұрын
Subscribed. Awesome flight. Heard the CRJ is pretty slippery and difficult to land without a long final.

Definitely easier from seat 2A! I lived in NYC for 35 years. By far, my favorite way into LGA. Thanks for this!

Saw it in the sim a few times, but this the first time seeing it for real. Looks a little intense and a great landing to finish.

Ah yes! I remember this well... (on DC-9s and A320s). ACCURACY above all else on touchdown...Then - get off runway expeditiously and never go across the intersection with the crossing runway because then it'd be at least a half-hour longer to get back across the taxiway to the gate! ;-) nice video - thanks for sharing.

I can definitely agree with what you're saying. As a pilot in training I can say the landing is the hardest part of every flight.

I was between 9000 - 10,000 hours TT when this was taken, the majority of which was in the CRJ-200 & 900. It's about how fine you want to slice it, and how far from the runway. For example, loosey goosey doesn't work in the flare. What I am doing it trying to accomodate every gust and fairly far out, so the aircraft doesn't start going in some undesired direction. 100% seat of the pants. You are always trying to get better. 747 video for reference: facebook.com/reel/695588245731704

Well done, sir. I've flown the Rj9 and instructed for about 2200 hours and that was textbook. Had a trip that was supposed to take me into LGA for an overnight but I got sick and had to call out. :(

Our version of Kai Tek. Was in the cabin of a 738 today and they shot this with a 20 knot crosswind from the right. Felt like we were at the Reno air races. And bumpy as hell. Not fun.

On this particular day Runway 4-22 was likely closed for construction as it’s clear they are arriving and departing Runway 31. And this video is 6 years old and that’s right around the time 4-22 was being rehabbed.

Average Joe like me unfortunately rate the pilot on just landing. When in fact, the whole duration of the flight be it one or 15 hours, the pilot is shitting in pants ready in anything goes wrong. Kudos to you pilots, thanks for keeping us safe.
