I discovered Rayland Baxter when I was on a trip from Canada to Tennessee. I heard this song on a radio station in Knoxville and instantly fell in love with the lyrics. I quickly started writing down all the lyrics so I could find out who the artist was! I am so happy to hear such beautiful music and to have a favourite present day artist. I am normally only drawn to older music, but Rayland Baxter’s music really warms my soul.

Used to listen to this song, knowing for a fact I have never found that girl. Never actually thought that I would ever find someone that from the bottom of my soul I know she's the one. From the first word exchange, I found my woman. We found each other. I'm her man. So Ray, I really really wish the woman for you finds you man... This song meant a lot, and still means a lot. Thank you so much for the love that's in every moment of this beautiful divine song.

Lyrics: Never in my lifetime Have these eyes of mine been fortunate to see the woman for me But I hang around this old town Dealing with the same crowds in the street, will I ever see You can find me on the hillside looking all around Or out there by the old trees on the edges of town It don't matter where I go, don't matter what I see Cause I ain't ever gonna find the woman for me

I saw him in Knoxville last night. Went to see Darrell Scott and figured I'd have to "tolerate" this no-name guy opening for him. I was absolutely floored from the first note until he left the stage. Rayland Baxter definitely made a new fan, last night.

Here I am always late to the party! I love this song. I haven’t heard a song of this type that I liked this much since Jackson Browne. I enjoyed reading the comments. The haters always reveal more about themselves than say anything meaningful on topic. Someone said you played in southern Virginia. Ever coming back?

He's touring with Amos Lee this year. Wish I could afford the tickets. Guess I'll be listening to Amos and Rayland in the car, the poor woman's concert hall. :) Love this guy. I can hear Dylan's, Prine's and Lee's influence for sure.

Lyrics part II: She moves just like the springtime She's quiet like the voices in the wind that never end When she calls me I come running Don't matter where I am, cause I am her man We go out for a long walk by the dreamer's sea But the only footprints in the sand are left by me From the top of the mountain to the bottom of the sea Tell me Lord where do I find the woman for me?

Lyrics part III: Well I thought I got a hold of her Back when I was young enough to fall for a crazy girl But time went by and I found that I Was nothing more than just a boy in a crazy world And I got dirt on my face and I'm losing my mind I've been swimming through this desert for the longest time No matter where I go no matter what I see She's always on the other side, the woman for me.

Ha! Your first comment about the video was a personal attack. I'm guessing that was flattery for Mr. Baxter? I figured you couldn't answer a simple question.

Wow. One would think Mr. Baxter would have stole your candy as a child. What did he do to make you so upset?

Not at all. Refer to my first comment. You entertain me. It's no secret that your sole purpose of posting here is to get under people's skin. Ok, serious question. What do you consider to be good music? Can you answer that one? At least give me a little context so I can try to make sense out of your idiotic comments.
