I like how you also used the lineman’s belt as a second fall safety. I had never hunted from a saddle but I am considering it and one of my concerns was safety.

This is a very good tutorial on how to use this JX3 I’ve got one and I’ve watched the other one but you’re more thorough I really appreciate it thank you

I'm 5'7 320lbs do you think this would be okay for me?

Looks like a very comfortable saddle. Lineman’s rope, not linesman…linesmen hold the chains at football games. Lol. 29 year lineman here. Going on my xmas list!

I own one of these and I’ll tell you it is so comfortable! In fact I am using mine on the ground right now for a deer hunt. The only downfall is it’s a little wide and a touch heavy so in some situations it isn’t ideal. Everywhere else I won’t hunt out of anything else! Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Thinking about just winching my lazy boy up into the tree. Maybe throw a microwave and a tv up in there. Hell yeah! Now we’re huntin! Lol nice setup. I use the tethered phantom and beast climbing sticks. Problem I’d have with this is i take a backpack and climbing sticks. If that had a way to attach sticks to it and a few pouches then it would be real nice.

I really like my jx3. It’s super comfy. Only thing is I wish it was a little bit light and the bridge was maybe narrower. I like your idea of cinching down the bridge with extra tether

JX3 now sells a short bridge

Looks comfortable but heck I would have to spend the night in it to be ready by daylight

Are you still using the jx3?

I'm really leaning towards selling my current saddle setup and platform to fund a JX3. I discovered them last year after i'd already invested in a saddle setup. My last sit in my saddle my knees were killing me even with knee pads. I like that the whale tail on the JX3 keeps you away from the tree and it looks way more comfortable.

To be fair, should point out that you are using a Prussik knot tender that makes sliding that prussik knot SO MUCH EASIER. Another option is an ascender Wild Country Ropeman 1. Can't imagine using a lineman's rope without a tender or ropeman1.
@79brumley4 жыл бұрын
They discontinued the ropeman 1 because it was proven the teeth would tear clean through a rope with a small fall!
