What's interesting is in the original it appears that the shiny blade scared the goblin (assuming most audience members don't know of the special material). Meanwhile here the sudden glowing sword in front of a dumb goblin. Makes sense it'd be startled, then the goblin king can explain.

Perfection! Would love to see a tutorial on how you went about editing this. In an ideal world, I'd love to see the same treatment to Glamdring, but obviously it would be out of continuity from LOTR. Awesome work as ever dude!

Movie Dude Doing this to Glamdring was a big debate in my head. But in the end I knew that half of the people who see it would hate it because it was different and with that in mind it wouldn't be worth the work.

I'm assuming this is all done through After Effects? I guess you could maybe go about doing a fan edit of the LOTR trilogy....and by that I mean changing the scene of Bilbo finding the Ring to Martin Freeman and making Glamdring blue and that's it as the rest of those films are perfect haha I think in the director's commentary of LOTR, Peter Jackson says they didn't make Glamdring blue as it would look too much like a lightsaber. This is definitely something I'd like to implement in my edit though. Imagining the scene where a blue Orcrist kills Azog and then it fades back to a regular blade would look very effective

@@JXEditor late replay, but the lightsaber effect is why jackson shrugged off the glowing effect for glamdring and orcrist, because unlike sting the longer blades resemble light beams more than blades.

This makes sense as to why they didnt do it. Cuz he had this thing draw always and is always near goblins or orcs so this thing would have been glowing fucking constantly lmao

Also in lotd, jackson said he didn't make glamdring glow specifically cuz it would have looked like a light saber glowing throughout the majority of the movies.

I agree with you blades of Gondolin are known for Glowing into colors when servants of the dark lord are nearby. I wish they honor somethings from the entire novels.
