I feel that what JYP said in the minute 3:19 to 3:49 could be like the solution to us with worries like "Why Stray Kids didnt' chart in Melon top 100" or "why Stray Kids doesn't immediately grab attention like other rookie groups who do so well in charts and digitally for their lead singles . Like he said. He felt Stray Kids is correct to stay at their own pace and slowly build up to the top. And like he also said: When more fans join, it's like they have a reason to and fans can understand and like what they found in Stray Kids, instead of jumping into the craze and the bandwagon right from the beginning. So overall I think this is also to make sure that Stray kids develops each and every time and win the hearts of the fans slowly but surely, and for us STAYs to have a meaningful reasons why we like them, instead of jumping on bandwagon too much and not only Stray Kids lost their way and us STAYs liking them at beginning at eventually turn back on them when they do not produce of what people expect from them. JYP is really wise with his words. HUGE RESPECT TO HIM. Sorry for the long comment, but that is what I feel when I said that, and I totally respect and agree with him.

Yes I agree with JYP. It's also one of the reasons JYP himself had such a long and successful career. He wasn't a 'one hit wonder' and he doesn't want the boys to be as well. He wants them to grow, which is the MOST important part of a person's career and life. This was why he was so worried for ITZY's huge success. He cares for his artists and wants to give them lasting careers.

Ya know i kinda feel the same. I knew them with Miroh and that was just the time that i was super focused with another group. That’s nct btw lol anyway i know myself when i get too attached when i stan groups. I tend to focus my attention to only one. I became aware of them and i remember watching Miroh back then and felt “oh theyre good yeah” but idk i didnt dig too much bc as ive said i was super focused to only one grp. But God’s Menu happened and little did i know that theyre the same grp i have ‘ignored’ for a while! And i regret it so much haha but atleast today i consider myself as Stay 💗 still getting to know more abt them and i absolutely love God’s menu era. Loved everything abt it. My bias is Bangchan btw 🖤 im so happy that I share the same line w him haha im just older by months. I came back to this clip to reminisce, too. Seem prophetic now what jyp said about organic growth. Now rookie groups would have huge stream, big view counts out of the gate, and gushing fans with debut EP. Stray kids earned every fan and every victory with their bare hands; no instant success, only time tested track record. Now skz music is heard all around the world and the group became million album seller twice in 7 months. I tend to see Stray Kids a trail blazer, an anomaly in kpop industry being mostly free to produce their music and image. There is nothing wrong with label creating pop singers. However for ppl appreciate artistic endeavor, Stray Kids is building support and respect among industry ppl, fans, and casual music listeners.

Even before skz debuted I used to follow another group from jyp, I was kinda mad at jyp bc he was really stubborn about letting them manage their own creative process. But now with skz is totally different and I'm really curious why. I know they are crazy talented and stuff but how did they get the chance to show that? This is my personal observation. I think he really likes Chan's attitude and personality. Chan is very respectful and humble despite being so talented. You can see that Chan is loved by many older men like Young K, 2PM, BM Kard...

I don’t want to imply anything but Chan as a trainee has already proven himself as a very good composer. So music-wise, JYP knows he got the talent. 3RACHA even submits tons of songs before the A&R Team for review and the scenario is always not about whether they pass or fail but which songs to include in the album, similar with Day6. They’re just THAT good. Note that in JYPE, the A&R team has a voting system composed of random JYPE employees to mimic the public. The song has to reach a certain no. of votes before it’s considered “passed”. In SKZ and DAY6’s case, their songs always manage to pass that their albums are still solidly theirs, just with minimal help from in-house producers to polish the songs. And yes, attitude and personality is also valued by JYP.

It’s just sad that it happened to JB but the purpose of him going to JYP is for mentorship. If he didn’t want a logical comment from a good mentor then why bother reach out to JYP, he could have gone to someone else. It just also shows that JB knows he needed JYP’s input so he could improve. One needs to know his weakness and shortcomings in order to improve and learn, and I commend JB for that. But we shouldn’t take it against JYP too. The guy is known to be blunt and sugarcoating his comments for the show isn’t him and that would be disrespectful to the budding composer/producer that was JB.

I know I'm late but I'd like to add that from the beginning they let Chan choose the member and let them do their thing. Because of that "self producing group" became SKZ color so it's obvious they have to let them compose and write the songs because it's also how they sell/promote the group. If suddently after being credited in every songs on their predebut mixtape and debut album, they were no longer composing and writing it wouldn't work. Obvioulsy they're very good at what they're doing and they make good music but I think the company also look at the marketing and publicity aspect.

I feel that what JYP said in the minute 3:19 to 3:49 could be like the solution to us with worries like "Why Stray Kids didnt' chart in Melon top 100" or "why Stray Kids doesn't immediately grab attention like other rookie groups who do so well in charts and digitally for their lead singles . Like he said. He felt Stray Kids is correct to stay at their own pace and slowly build up to the top. And like he also said: When more fans join, it's like they have a reason to and fans can understand and like what they found in Stray Kids, instead of jumping into the craze and the bandwagon right from the beginning. I don't know if I'm going to be able to explain this very well, but JYPE is divided into 4 divisions and each of those divisions, who are run separately, takes care of different groups and each division does whatever they want to. For example, in division 2 is JYP (as an artist), YuBin, HyeLim, GOT7, Itzy. So JYP himself is not actually very involved in other groups concepts and things like that.
