Sweet, I realize the videos get a bit long... but it's nice to know that they are thorough and helpful like that
@evanwilliams70707 жыл бұрын
To get rid of the hitch pin slop/movement you need to pull the whole rack backwards away from the vehicle as you tighten the knob. That will tighten the hitch pin right up.

Hmm, thanks for the tip Evan

Per the manufacturer the max capacity is only 40lbs per tray with 1.25" reciever. 60lbs each with a 2" reciever.

You can adjust the wheel trays, which raise and lower the handle bars so that they don't interfere with the seat of the opposite bike.
@ElectricBikeReview6 жыл бұрын
Really? How do they adjust? I noticed the orange bars coming out to the plastic trays but wasn't sure how to adjust them like slide forward and back or up and down?

Great review. I recently bought the Thule 9032 Easy Fold. It has a lot of similarity, except for coming with the bike stand pole. I got the rack to haul my Volton Alation 500 from DC to the Delaware shore, where I spend my weekends. Your reviews are so helpful, and gave me the confidence to by the Volton online. Keep up the outstanding work!!!!!

One plus point of the higher rack is your approach angles off road or going up a slope off road or a car park for that matter, means the rack and more importantly the bikes won't be damaged! Nice vid bud

Thanks, I do appreciate the higher clearance but have still occasionally bumped the end of the rack when taking a steep driveway (at a hotel in Del Mar, California to be specific)

Sweet, someone was saying they found a 2" hitch for Prius www.hitchsource.com/torklift-ecohitch-hidden-toyota-prius-2012-16-in-receiver-p-37071.html and that would be nice because you can get the rack model that will be easier to use with trucks and probably easier to resell

Glad it helped Greg! Yeah, I felt pretty embarrassed... don't want to cause anyone else harm on the road. Thought maybe it would become a learning opportunity to help others :) here's the Küat NV 2.0 on Amazon if you're buying it online, I'm in their affiliate program amzn.to/2aZXRAy

fender bikes fit fine. I just use extra strap to strap [purchased separately from Kuat] down the clipped on wheel as an extra insurance in a long haul. NV 2.0 works great for modern bikes with varying frame design and I can safely carry both by touring and roadie with confidence even in long haul by strapping both wheels.
@aliensporebomb3 жыл бұрын
So ended up getting the NV2.0 for my 2013 Prius. Except it took a while to realize there's a big difference between "NV2.0" and NV2.0 Base". The local trailer hitch installation place claimed the 2013 Prius could only accommodate the 1.25" hitch size and not the 2" so we had the 1.25" hitch installed. So far, so good. However, the local bike shop only had the NV2.0 racks with the 2" receiver hitch (and they checked and the 1.25" NV model is sold out nationwide due to high demand during the pandemic) and we managed to get a 1.25" to 2" adapter from Harbor Freight. This solution is not ideal at all - it places the rack farther out from the rear of the vehicle than seems safe and for some reason I've seen some of these racks have a horizontal bar attachment and some curve upwards raising the rack higher up off the surface of the road. The one we have extends horizontally from the rear of the vehicle and is far too close to the ground and the adapter doesn't hold itself rigid to the rack - it moves around which makes bikes seemingly move around dangerously and more worrisomely - the rig is so low that any driveway or road that ascends precipitously (even a suburban driveway) will cause the back of the rack to scrape against the ground. As it is, it's utterly unusable in a safe manner. What a dissappointment. We're actually sourcing a completely different vehicle to accommodate my wife's e-bike and my carbon road bike. But even though the rear of the vehicle we're getting is higher off the ground I fear it won't be high enough. Has anyone else encountered this ridiculousness? Is there a better rack to be used? My thinking this could be used for the new vehicle and maybe a different rack for my 1.25" Prius hitch.
@goaheadmakeourdayscooterpe67246 жыл бұрын
I like using a dual motorcycle hauler, by Dicount Ramps. You do need a receiver hitch but it's rated for 600 lbs. For 260 bucks it hard to beat and i like it being a little overkill for ebikes but does double duty for my dirt cycle.
@ElectricBikeReview6 жыл бұрын
That's awesome!

Thank you Court, I just ordered one of these, I am having a trailer hitch put on my Tesla, and was worried that I would need to take my fenders off my ebike. I feel better thatwhen I look at the bike the axel sits straight under where the fender ends, so it should be good to go . wow that was a close call for the stromer.

Have you tried Uline's website for reflective safety tape? There are a variety of colors and patterns to choose from. Primarily used in industrial areas but can be adapted to whatever your needs are. I believe they can also custom print phrases or words to the safety tapes.

Hi Court - Quito here! During the past 6 years since posting this review, did you have any failures or stability concerns transporting 2 ebikes on the NV2.0 (1.25" model) with that Curt 1.25" receiver? I'm considering this exact setup for our Bulls E2Street and Raleigh Lore IE on our 2007 Subaru WRX wagon - 200lb tongue weight. Thanks in advance if you have time to reply.

Still using this rack? How do you like it? Seems like a real pain to have to mess with your seat adjustment to get two bikes to fit. I would expect this to be a definite issue with 2 mountain bikes, if they dont both have dropper posts...

How has this rack been working with your bike with the fender?
@ElectricBikeReview6 жыл бұрын
Pretty well, actually. I have hauled a bunch of ebikes over the past couple of years and sometimes put the arm over the top tube vs. the front tire. Even with the fender there, this rack holds the tire and the bike hasn't fallen out (I just hauled the Stromer from Colorado to Arizona no problem, even with the fender, and there's no damage
