JoJo said it himself. When Jodeci started it was only himself and Devante. He felt like he was always in K-Ci’s shadow and when Devante suggested that K-Ci be apart of the group JoJo again felt slighted. That’s why in the Jodeci days JoJo never had much to say in interviews because he honestly felt like a background singer to his brother in a lot of ways. So he started drinking heavily to compensate being in K-Ci’s shadow yet again even after he helped create Jodeci. It’s sad, but I just wish JoJo didn’t see it that way because without JoJo there would be no Jodeci

Yes. I dont know if it was exactly their voices. They changed. Its as if they became their own grand-uncles. Something happened to what they thought sound good. Part of singing is hearing. They performed as if they were 60. The way they carried themselves during the performance, the swag was grandpawish. And got worse the longer on stage. This is sad. This is only 10yrs from "come and talk to me". That is a quick decline.

gospelevans it was because devante decided itd be a good idea for kci and jojo to branch off as a duo kci didn’t wanna do that because he wanted to stay as jodeci but at the time rap was dominating the 90s so jodeci was still together but they wasn’t putting out lots of albums so as soon as love always album came out their style really changed and they got more successful as a duo than they was as jodeci and pretty much jojo said it himself the only thing he was doing was smoking weed and drinking too much alcohol then they had a tv show called come clean which they showed y’all how long it took for them to get sober so now kci got his voice back jojo not so much but he slightly sounds good then in 2014 they showed up this time performing as a group jodeci live on soul train then dropped every moment which it was supposed to release on their we are back album in 2001 which featured jennifer song but it never came out due to label disputes and i spoke to dalvin he said they recorded plenty songs but wasn’t sure if they’ll ever come out so pretty much Jodeci been together but now kci is a solo artist same with jojo dalvin gotta new song coming out and devante is just still on a very low profile handling his business
