@@smallparticlelinda I agree with that, and I am glad she knows her strengths and weaknesses are. Her range is limited so ballads aren’t her thing(unless catered to her range). Her picking dance/hip-hop and rnb/soul music(spoiler) instead was really smart of her to showcase her strengths which is her unique vocal tone and the way she interprets the music. Winning the show wasn’t her priority, she really meant it when she says the purpose of joining the show was a learning journey for her as an artiste and for that alone I am happy and rooting for her.

Now I understand why Oh My Girl has so many idol fan and really famous in Korea, each member is freaking talented, charismatic and charming, also they will never disappoint you in live performance they master the stage already they want to win but there is something that they have that other group has not, it is they really assure that audience will enjoy plus they are not just focus on winning but mostly they are focus on how their performance will be impact to the viewers and also they have a happy vibes. They are really a master of concept and really capture the eyes of the viewers and I like how they response on the constructive criticism they get, even sometimes the other criticism is a bit too much they take it and learn from it and they just smile. In live stage, survival show and their whole discography is really good they are the group that when walk in stage u will already smile. Lastly you can see that they are really enjoying in perfoming they each member is like born for being a artist and performer they really master the industry and just enjoying it they really love their craft👏 brava Mimi

I think she fits jazz/soul/rnb too. When sang in Underwater Love with her members, producers of the song were praising Mimi for her surprising talent in being the best member to interpret the song well despite being the main rapper and sub-vocalist. Even Jiho who left the group mentioned before that Mimi was their hidden main vocalist. Can’t imagine how much potential she could unleash if she hadn’t suffered from vocal cord nodules, but then she made a great rapper as well so ya.. Anws, you may like to check out “Can’t help loving you”, Mimi’s first and only solo ost as of date. Her husky voice in this song kindda reminds me of IU singing in a lower range.

Her group is called Oh My Girl. They are concept queens. Their music discography is different than this but also very good. I recommend, I’ve been a fan for years. Off the top of my head recommend: Closer, Dolphin, Real Love, Checkmate, Twilight, 5th Season, Windy Day(the stage performances are fantastic), and their debut Cupid which is a cute song (they were young) but they song still have this funky brass section and drum line beat to it.
