I believe I read that KD's version of Hallelujah was Leonard Cohen's favourite version. This coming from our poet, singer, song writer (RIP) who wrote it.

her live performance of this song at the Logies is my favorite version, the last 3 Hallelujah's are AMAZING. Again, the piano was too strong over her voice IMO

Her performance of fellow Canadian Jane Sidberry's "The Valley" at the 2022 Fire Fighters charity concert at your ANZ Stadium in Sydney is now running a very close second to my favorite, her 2010 Vancouver Olympic's Hallelujah.

I love this version and performance. I was working on a book in my series when I stumbled on this. The song and performance has been a theme in the series, it's so very powerful. The main male character is an angel who was looking for a vampire in that audience (this performance) and he stopped when she started singing. That song has lines sprinkled throughout the books and the 5th has a redo with the angel, now a vampire, dreaming the scene as the vampire being hunted. The song had a great impact on me and still does. It's going to be my favorite forever. :) My mom, who passed in 2015, loved KD Lang, had all her albums. She loved this version as well and was highly amused when I used it. Great reaction video. Thanks so much!!

When KD Lang does a cover of a song, she absolutely crushes all the other versions including the original. Try her tribute to Roy Orbison 'Crying", her version of Patsy Cline's 'Crazy' or 'Three cigarettes ' or even Cole Porter's 'So, In Love'. Tony Bennet said it best 'she is a singer's singer.

Love this, love her - K.D. is a Contralto (between a male tenor and a female mezzosoprano) If you haven't heard her version of Cole Porter's "So In Love" I highly recommend!

You need to watch k.d.lang performing "Crying" at the tribute for Roy Orbison. It is unforgettable. I believe she received a 4 minute standing ovation from the audience.

Before the Olympics got postponed to 2021 Mariah Bell skated to this version at 2020 nationals and now I'd pants version of this song is my favorite - I want to suggest you react to that video also😉

The funny thing I heard about was that when she came out as gay, the country music industry accepted her, and this was back in the 80’s and 90’s. But when she came out as vegetarian they lost. Their. Minds. For pretty much the reason you said. 😂
