I couldn't find an official English version so I looked at the translations and wrote my own lyrics to rhyme and fit better. Hope you like it!

I wanted to clarify again: the literal translations have really awkward context, rhythm, and rhyme so I changed them intentionally to make the song better and easier to listen to. A few people have been commenting that the lyrics are "wrong" when I addressed this in the description. It's not a matter of right or wrong lyrics, it's just a different version/interpretation. I don't feel like I need to explain myself more than that lol Anyways, thanks for the overwhelming love & support

People like to point out literal translation and think they’re language experts meanwhile context, metaphors, connotations, and in song writing *the flow* are all things to be considered when translating into another language so it can make sense to an audience of a different language- like you did a great job 👏🏼

I feel like this song is about / referencing how idols are human too, they experience emotions and pain too, just because their idols doesn’t mean they’re some type of indestructible statue, no they’re human too yet most people treat them like _glass like they’re fragile_ It could also be about how ahri is feeling, people have said she looks depressed in the music video or uncomfortable, possibly because k/da is becoming an icon not what she wanted. It’s becoming what she tried to leave in the past

I mean..I saw it as more of an anthem of how shitty it gets in the KPOP industry specifically. Because as nice and cute as K/DA may look..actual KPOP artists go through hell to get to where they are. At least in the west we can do it off our own talent. In Korea they need to go through agencies or they'll never make it..there's prejudice against non-Koreans, there's shaming if you aren't underweight, there's lots of shit thats similar but different to malpractice in the west. And I think that Ahri's background in K/DA would have been amazing to address it more if they wanted. As for KPOP agencies, Skooch here on KZbin has a video reading an article on his stream about a former idol's experiences in the KPOP industry. It's an eye-opening video, for sure.

FOR ANYONE WANTING TO KNOW THE CORRECT TRANSLATION: I live in Korea and speak fluently. and have for about ten years. husband is Korean. So I do know these things. I understand that she says its a QUOTE "different version/interpretation" but the Korean doesn't say nearly the same thing. So, I would like to share. The first two lines, IN KOREAN mean "I see my reflection in the window, I close my eyes. Take me to a windy place" Which is a term used for something like 'another world'. The next Korean line means "please get rid of it". The fourth line is spot on though and fits well. So thank you. AND the (in my opinion) best line of "When I'm ready, I'll roar." Which discounted to 'open the door, hearin' me roar" is not as appealing. Another line of hers > "I gotta stop my old ways cuz it dont suit me" in the original is translated to "There's darkness in these memories, forget them all" The NEXT verse is where it differs greatly. "Sometimes it will be hard to keep up the fight. You just gotta keep reaching for the light" is actually IN KOREAN, from the original lyrics, which mean "Isn't light bigger than darkness. You know your worth." which is a beautiful reflection of the english line just after it. AND... the last line doesn't talk about a rainbow. Instead it says "after darkness its a bright day." So it definitely isn't the 'English Version' but its not a bad version either.

The thing about the "Rain and rainbow" have the same meaning of: After the bad things, good things come, (The rain/rainbow version is way more popular than this Korean one where I live ). Adaptation is the key word here

I think the point of the English adaption was that some phrases fit better in English if it was translated and then interpreted. This happens a lot. If people directly translated Japanese songs to English (as there is a huge group of artist that does English covers of Japanese songs), it would sound terrible, or at least very off. The artist probably adapted a few phrases for it to flow and match the rhythm while also helping it make sense. I like these adaptions myself, because then I can sing along to a song and actually know the words. J-Pop and K-Pop is amazing and the West has nothing even remotely close to touching many of the styles and art put into their music, so the English Adaption (what most artist call "English Covers") is really nice.

When i listened to this song for the first time i tought it wasnt just my type, i found it less powerful than the other, but when the concept video came out i started to like it, and now that i know all the lyrics i can say that i love it and your voice is perfect for this!
