( i just copy and paste this in case u guys don't understand Ahri's concept video. or why she looks sad ) Her song is about self doubt and depression. When she first started out as a popstar (what she always wanted to be) she was with producers who forced her to sing lyrics that weren't her own, dye her hair etc. It's about having the strength to choose other paths if YOU aren't happy with the way things are going. But even after forming K/DA with the other girls you have toxic environments (media trying to bring you down "onehit wonder?") and even if u are someone else on the outside (what fans can see) it doesn't mean everything is fine inside (seeing "behind the scenes" in the MV). But with K/DA, where they can produce whatever they want, she can tell stories she always wanted to tell: For people who are like her, it's all about becoming who you want to be. You don't have to fix the "broken glass", because there will always be people who will try to make it break (even if it's urself aka self doubt, stage fright etc.). You absorb all this and get stronger, it gets a part of you and it will form a strong person who follows its passion. The positive parts are at the end: her "blooming" on top of the flower, showing all her tails, performing on stage, opening the cage (quiting her job/working with toxic companies that manipulate ...) and seeing herself in the mirror/glass that's now part of her getting stronger and more confident. ( u can read the comic about her, her past.etc )

I think that, from a story and role model perspective, it is actually beautiful that they address the complications of expectations and rising up to meet them even if you fall.

I've got to say, I'm not a fan of this video at all. The song has an upbeat pop vibe to it, even the lyrics could be interpreted as something Demi Lovato/Vanessa Hudgens/Disney high school nerd girl finally wins the talent show type song. But in the video, she's actually going through a depressive episode. For a dance pop number, she barely moves in the entire thing, spending most of it staying almost completely still. The colour palette is muted and even with lights on her, she's still surrounded by darkness. Even the lights are in stark contrast. Both the video and song are great individually, but they are jarring together. The video looks more like it would be more in tune with something by Amy Lee. Also, the companion comic shows that Ahri is going through something since finding fame as she got stuck with an image that isn't the real her, and she feels trapped as she can't sing what she wants to sing. Which is probably why she doesn't move during the video, because she's not allowed to express herself.
