I actually don't know if that is 100% true. This is the main partner studio I think for this video (referenced from the description of the actual concept video: www.trizz.tv/portfolio/reel ) They do seem to do both extremely detailed cg work, but also do some stuff that combines real life visuals with the cgi. So, I guess we won't really know unless they do a behind the scenes from the studio or riot themselves but I'm not 100% sure it is *all* cgi. It could be though but unlike say fortiche (popstars) or Axis studios (More) they don't appear to be a 3d/cgi only studio.

The animations done for riot's cinematic are outsourced 90% of the time. There are 3 main studios that Riot likes to hire...their names can usually be seen in descriptions of videos. The main one they call on is : forticheprod.com/ Not to undermine Riot's animators, but most are bot aware they hire out.

I'm pretty confident its all CGI but they were able to make it seem so real with cleaver color pallets and lighting. (One of Evelynn's key traits in-game is invisibility so this seems to be a nod at that). Can't wait to see what they do for drum go dum since kai'sa is supposed to be the dancer leading me to believe they'll focus on movement for that one.

With pop/stars i dont think they were ready for how popular it'd get since it was the 1 song, skins, the worlds performance and a few items of mech but this time they have (so far) released a new champ, ultimate skin, 4 additional songs each with an intro track, an additional music vid, and ~2x the merch compared to the pop/stars era. I am pretty sure they're ready to milk the hell out of the hype this time around.

It's definitely all CGI. The textures and fidelity that can be achieved today are phenomenal, but the right lighting can make everything pop PERFECTLY so it genuinely looks about as real as it can get, which is absolutely fantastic, and those making this video surely decided to flex their motherboards lmao.

I was going to say that about the lighting too. Having a one direction hard lighting that can hide lots of detail works waaaay better than a bright light. That's why Jurassic park still holds up today, mostly with the trex. They used the night and a hard light to hide most of the details. The FX artist flexed hard in this video still. It looked dope.

Just a quick explanation! Evelynn is a champion in the game and her abilities revolve around spikes, charm, and whiplash. Her passive is when she hits level 6, she goes into "demon shade" to where enemy champions can not see her, that's why in the music video its extremely dark and almost hard to process! Part of the reason this animation looks so real is it has a hyper realistic film grain effect. Old movies are always real. And when we see that film grain effect on a very VERY realistic looking CG model it makes it look even more real. Also just in general this is one of Riot's best animated shorts. If you look at the lips in slow motion you can really see where the vowels come in. And the lips are even animated sticking together ever so slightly from her lipstick.

The only scene I was skeptical about being CGI was the car scene (driving part) but then I've seen what modern CGI is capable of so I wouldn't be surprised if it was all CGI. I myself have done shots (renders, not video, however everything runs incredibly well) with seats JUST LIKE THOSE, at a level of detail VERY similar, I almost thought they were using the same models but as I looked closer I noticed the trim was different. Who knows what'll be possible with the new graphic cards that have recently came out, people who use stuff like Cinema4D and other software have routinely surprised me, even works with SFM (Source Film Maker) can be utterly mind blowing.

The visuals are a high resolution physics engine. When you don't have many characters to rig or animate, you can have more fun with abstract visuals. The physics engine moves everything for you once you set the programming and models inside. It's simple movement but because of that, you can just layer filters and lighting on top of it and amp up the resolution - because it's just a close up shot of simple motion. That's the draw of a concept video, not a lot has to go on for it to pull you in. It's just meant to set the tone for the vocals with visuals and it's incredibly successful. Good job Riot Team

The textures are mind boggling. The way Riot uses ambiguity to keep our senses from making full sense of what we are seeing truly speaks to the dual forms of Eve. And the creeping feeling of dread and slithering of fear accentuated by the snakes, fire, and that lack of control on what we see.
