It's a real pity C&O 1189 wasn't preserved. It spent several years at Ravenna, KY into the 70s, and if it was saved, it sure would have made for a great excursion engine on the New River Trains.

Locomotives from England, Germany, The USSR, India, China or any other country made by this team would be phenomenal! The Q2 was made by Greencoast Studios, the S2 was sidelined by Greencoast Studios, so he has to restart the project. and as for the Q1, it defiantly needs to be commissioned to be made by K&L Trainz. And if Greencoast Studios cancels the S2 project, then I’ll commission K&L to make the S2 and the Q1 duplexes.

Those are called Air Compressors. They were used to deliver Air Pressure to the breaks. The C&O Alleghenies had them, and it was a bit of a trademark.
